• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Piroe - Sell or Keep?

Keep him. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
Feck the business model, I want this club to get promoted, not linger round the lower reaches of the second tier.

Don't torture yourself with that dream mate, ain't gonna happen under these owners.

Honestly, there’s some crap on here, sell last years top scorer just because he hasn’t hit the ground running yet…madness.

There's another argument which is sell him to re-invest. And before anyone throws back a statement that includes 'Yanks' and 'invest' in the same sentence, I am not talking about spending 100% of the fee. Instead I am talking about a few million (let's say four million of an eleven million fee) spent on WB's and a young striker.

Well talking to ‘someone’ last night I get the impression we want him gone asap for as much money as possible so we can bring in two or three players out of that money.
Not exactly mind blowing news I know I’m just saying what I grasped out of a conversation I had.

He'll know that too, and he'll want out. That'll be built into his performances as it's in his head.

Surely though not putting himself in the best light if he has lost form due to being distracted by all the transfer talk ?
I honestly feel it's a confidence thing

I don't hear any transfer chatter, none whatsoever. No smoke without fire and all that so I assume that he will still be with us into September.

Do you hear anything, Risc?

Everton are after some Championship strikers in Diaz (Blackburn) and Gyokeres (Coventry) so Piroe may be a 3rd option there.

Very rarely, but was just on the off chance I heard off someone that Downes would 100% be off as a deal was sorted shortly after season finished (with I assume palace actually but West Ham came in late), and that Piroe would also be going, has been trying hard to get a move all summer but looks as if at the moment no one paying the price we want. What Darran is saying I would think is spot on though, we wanted this deal done a long time ago.

I wasn't saying that we should sell, I was just gauging others opinion here. If it were to be the case of us needing to sell him to bring in players, I imagine his stock has dropped off from the tail end of last year. In an ideal world we keep Piroe and bring in new faces, but let's be realistic.

One of the problems I have with selling him is whether or not we can replace him with anyone capable of starting? We've let Kyle Joseph go already so Cullen is the only striker we have on the bench so our backup at the moment is not inspiring. If we don't replace Piroe, does that mean Cullen starts to partner Oba and we have no striker on the bench at all? And what happens if Oba gets injured?

I don’t think any other club would be running this poll about their top scorer.
