Pegojack said:He shouldn't be our starting striker, that should be Obafeml. Perhaps he can rediscover his form if we keep him as an impact sub. He made one great run last night from the halfway line, beating two or three challenges, got to the edge of the area and I thought 'here we go!". Then he scuffed his shot which almost hit the cornerflag. D'Oh!
CurtessECarr said:A good first season and some of our fanbase thought we would get £20m for him. What's today's value?
bakajack said:It feels like he is half a beat slower in his decision making this season compared to last. Half of what made him so deadly last season was that he only had to shift a defender a few inches to get a shot away from the edge of the box which usually found the corners.
This season he is hesitating a fraction which is subsequently affecting his confidence, when he is getting clear cut chances he is often snatching at them (see the two clear chances he had against Sheff Utd) when last season you could have put your house on him putting them away.
Not sure what the answer is to fixing this really, faster more incisive football where he isn't having to try to craft his own chances would be a start but you could argue the same about Obafemi where half the time we just don't have someone looking up to find his runs.
Dr. Winston said:He can't play upfront without Paterson behind him. Plainly. Obviously. Even to Martin by now surely?
I cannot for the life of me understand why RM is so reluctant to play him as a #10 behind Oba, an arrangement that yielded 26 goals in the second half of last season.
