Play offs..

Anyone thinking we can do it? Looking back over the last five years, the highest no of points to get 6th was 77 and the lowest was 68 last season. So I’d say 72 points minimum.
27 points from our remaining 13 games isn’t out of the question.
If only we sorted out our away form.
Not a cat in hells chance. Dreadful away form and not enough goals scored by almost every other player bar Vipotnik.

I don’t think so, not with the fixtures we have in the last 13 games. 65 points would be more than acceptable.
And that’s fine, even to be talking about this being a slight possibility means that Matos has been a huge success, and we can genuinely expect to put in a serious challenge next season.

Been thinking about this by the way and not certain I’d like to make the playoffs. I mean it would be exciting and we’d all be thrilled to do it again but honestly, the thought of getting absolutely humped week in week out next season would be dire.

Brilliant for money for the club but totally depressing as a fan.

Last time round, we had a real way of playing , a settled team and some genuinely talented players to add to.

This time we’d be facing such an uphill battle and need almost an entirely new team. I mean it can be done I guess, but it’s a ridiculously difficult ask. And looking at Luton, the money added through parachute payments doesn’t guarantee the next season would be better.

I’d prefer it if we developed a much stronger base before getting up again.

Maybe that’s just me though.
I agree. We're not ready for Prem. The Luton example is also a good one when the argument used is let's just take the money and build again. For the moment I'm just enjoying the home games, been such a long time since I did.

I’m just pleased to see the effort and desire at the moment to be honest.

We are all aware we lack quality in several places, but it’s great to see the energy.

And I agree that’s enough for this season.

I'm willing to shave my beard and get a hair cut like Matt Grimes. I'll even go as far as having some plastic surgery done. That's how confident I am we will get in the playoffs. If we don't, then I'll undergo my Grimes Surgery after the last game of the season.

It's certainly possible but we will have to go into it in one hell of a run of form to make it

The positive note is that no team will fancy coming to the swansea.com with our current home form and many of our promotion rivals still have to play against us meaning that as much as anything else you could argue its still in our hands.

The defeat against Derby was hugely deflating, it's all ifs and buts but if, just IF we hadn't gone out of that second half on a whimper and got a result out of that game then we would have been knocking right on the door.

The run in is definitely not easy for us but every single one of those games below I fancy us getting something out of the match.

Most said we weren't ready in 2011, guaranteed the drop with less points than Derby, most said. The rest is history.

Do I want the play offs? Absolutely.
Do I think we can make them? Unlikely, Matos is starting from too far behind.

I’m not uncomfortable with further adapting to his style over the remaining games, having a full pre season under him and a summer transfer window which fixes some of the missing pieces of the puzzle. HMS Piss The League 2026/2027.

No chance in my opinion... our away form is still not great or consistent. Too much traffic ahead of us and teams like Wrexham Birmingham and Southampton will fight it out for 5th and 6th place. I think Hull and Millwall will stall and get caught by the formentioned.

I think 8th on 66 points would be a good season outcome all considered

You never know but I doubt it. We’ve got pretty tough fixtures left - most of them are against teams above us including four games out of 13 against teams in the top 6. We’d need to see a real improvement in our away form as well as keeping up the good home run against better teams than we’ve been playing. I don’t think we’re quite good enough for that at the moment.

Still, if we can finish in the top half after where we were when Matos took over that would be a great achievement and give us a lot to build on for next season.

Of the 13 games we have left to play only four of those are against teams arguably not in with a shout of sneaking in to the play offs during the run in (Leicester, Portsmouth, Norwich and Charlton). The other nine games are all against teams within 7 points of the playoffs and feasibly capable of putting a run together.

Based on today's table we still have to play 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th in the league (home games in bold). Not sure if any others have a tougher run in than that.
