I was always of the opinion that we needed to get to January with a shot of going for the playoffs, and then whatever business we did would determine how far we could push.

It's now Jan 26, and we still have zero pace and Korey Smith playing CAM.

yes because our best CAM is injured and the other refusig to play. We are hardly playing him there in fornt of those

I don't see us being either promotion or relegation contenders this season.

First of all we are only part way through the squad rebuild that is needed to accommodate the possession based playing style. We still have more than a few players who through no fault of their own are just not suited to this style of play. It was always going to take 3 or 4 transfer windows to transition the squad properly, more if we have to heavily rely on the loan market (which thankfully it seems that we are keeping to a minimum right now).

I am expecting comfortable mid table finish with us building momentum on and off the pitch to hopefully take into next season when we can have a proper tilt at going up.

64 is possible as a target. Would need some serious luck.

I think its a bit of luck, a good finish to the window and a consistent run of performances

I think its within our reach but anything 58+ from here and we should be confident going into next season (IMO)

Agree Phil provided RM can continue building through the summer & not be faced with sales of Piroe, Ntcham, Downes & Cabango - appreciate we may need to sell one but anymore than that & we spin back to re-building.

This is absolutely right and I think it was one of the big issues we had last summer (and why Cooper didnt fancy hanging around) - We had no "crown jewels" to sell which meant it was going to be tough to get the right players. We used what we had wisely and need to do so these next few days and also through the summer.

As you say we could probably lose one but any more would feel detrimental unless it was for real serious money !

If Piroe comes close to doubling his current tally then he's gone. We need to do what Brentford became masters at in buying low and selling high. Watkins scored 26 goals in his last season with them and they sold him for £28m, potentially rising to £33m, having signed him for £2m. That's the kind of return we need to be looking for on Piroe if he breaks 20 goals.

With that kind of money you can look to replace him, strengthen other areas and have enough left over not to have to sell anyone else.
