The club could arrange a retro kit day at one of our remaining fixtures. Remember Palace and Sheff Wed doing this in the past lots turned out in tops ranging 40 years. Simple to implement..

Don’t be silly! The club aren’t that forward thinking.

I would certainly be looking at everyone who signs up to the app gets a free ticket for the next home game for their birthday.
This would generate more people on the app and they could send out offers out randomly offering deals on the app.
They could offer people who don't have a season ticket to get a free ticket for every 5/6th game they go to or even a one off discount voucher to use at the club shop.

Just ideas, sure I and others could come up with more with a little thought.

I think one of the problems is the amount f people who have had season tickets over the last 14 15 years have had such a good deal per game that buying a match day ticket now seems quite steep. People have had a lot of bill increases and they have to make their choices. The product on offer has suffered and apathy amongst other things has shown itself.
Winning brings fans back and what we see on the pitch otherwise it is back to the core support which is clearly much bigger than it was. Cheaper match day tickets or bundles of three might do it. As it is that time of the season maybe 4 games gets a Swans shirt or something similar from the shop.

Attendances were going to drop once we dropped into the champ and year on year after which we are seeing. I have read it's this and that but we all knew they would drop back to a hardcore too which we are not far off.

We are at a time that the club needs to be more pro active in bringing people back into the stadium as the product, when I say product I mean not being in the premier league, is not enough in itself to bring the fans through the turnstiles.

The issues probably go deeper than the product on the pitch.. we are playing in one of the most entertaining leagues in the world albeit not the prem.

Lots of teams sustain they attendances in the league like Sheff Wed, Norwich, Derby and Bristol City with minimal success or is it a case we have a fickle small fan base who only turn up when we are doing well ?

It does seem that way. For the size of Swansea and catchment area the support is poor, and has been declining whereas most other clubs support is on the increase. When we first arrived in the Championship under Martinez our average gate was almost exactly what it is now - just over 15,000. Plymouth, on the other hand, have gone from 11,500 to 16,500, for the same league position.

Marketing is the key, especially out in the sticks. We clearly can't rely on people to turn up under their own steam. So they need to be encouraged and incentivised.

Sadly your last sentence is key. The Welsh plastic disease.

I remember seeing people at the stadium during the premier league era that hadn't set foot in the vetch or the new stadium before we got promoted.

I haven't seen them since we've been relegated, either.

Extended family members of mine bought season tickets as soon as we got promoted to the prem.

They don't go to games at all now.

Said it a while ago, Norwich and Swansea are similar size cities and yet their attendances are almost double ours, even in a bang average season for them this year. In fairness to them , they have always supported the team , good or bad, they always turn up in numbers.

Always been the same for us.

We have a hardcore element in the city and the surrounding areas and that's it.

It was to be expected. The lure of Liverpool, United, Chelsea every other week.

Just a shame these fans didn't get hooked during those days.

Got to ask what the club did to capture the imagination of these fans once the lure of playing top sides every week faded.

Quite a few seem to have disappeared from near me. Up until last year we also had a block of a few seats where they never turned up, but kept the seats. Holding on to them in case we went back up I expect.
