Ah, right I didn’t have protected no claims. I was just hit from behind, car written off, and next renewal my quote increased by about 120 quidWhat am I missing here? ECB will declare a fault accident, not a non fault accident.
I smashed into a pheasant on the M4 a while back, mangled a grille and various pipework behind it. Claimed on insurance with protected no claims and it didn’t influence my premiums.
Well I’m not claiming for any injury I haven’t sustained. That’s how premiums keep going up and up.I’d be more worried about the incoming rise in insurance premiums! A non fault accident like that will cost you an extra 600-700 over the next five years. Happened to me a few times, I would definitely claim whiplash to offset the not your fault increases incoming, although from what I have heard, that would be hardly likely to cover 2 years of the impending increased premiums.
Shouldn’t make a difference. If you were hit from behind then you’re not liable (assuming you weren’t driving in reverse ). Your excess should also have been covered by the other party insurance.Ah, right I didn’t have protected no claims. Hang on, come to think of it, why would he declare a fault accident rather than a non fault? He is just sitting in the car, it has to be a non fault. What am I missing here? ECB will declare a fault accident, not a non fault accident.

My insurers told me this afternoon that they’ve “waived” the excess I should have paid which I’m fully aware is code for “we’ll get it off the other lot instead”.Shouldn’t make a difference. I'm with ew there, it's been non stop up here, doing my head in, I thought it would have abated by now. When is this bastard wind going to stop!!
Precisely. My insurers told me this afternoon that they’ve “waived” the excess I should have paid which I’m fully aware is code for “we’ll get it off the other lot instead”.
Seriously I’ll have to look into this, I’ve had 2 cars written off, by no fault of my own, each time I was stationary, and my premiums went up on renewal, soon as I entered details (which they knew anyway) up it went.Shouldn’t make a difference. If you were hit from behind then you’re not liable (assuming you weren’t driving in reverse ). Your excess should also have been covered by the other party insurance.
Sitting in the sun sipping gin and tonics while you lot freeze your bollucks off. What you doing in Spain Pego?
Ok now I get you, by non fault you mean not ECB’s fault.Hang on, come to think of it, why would he declare a fault accident rather than a non fault? He is just sitting in the car, it has to be a non fault.
You could also claim for stress and anxiety mind, get a paper off the doctors? My insurers told me this afternoon that they’ve “waived” the excess I should have paid which I’m fully aware is code for “we’ll get it off the other lot instead”.
Yes coops, just to make it clear. I am talking about next renewal time, once you get asked the question have you been involved in accidents? As far as I’m concerned non fault or actually AT fault, the premiums increaseOk now I get you, by non fault you mean not ECB’s fault.
I thought you meant non fault = nobody’s fault.
ECB’s insurer won’t recognise this as his claim on his insurance, therefore no impact on premiums as a direct result of this.
Nice matey, the weather this year has been fvcking dreadful. Enjoy.Sitting in the sun sipping gin and tonics while you lot freeze your bollucks off.
