Red Weather Warning

Ryan from the insurance company was a lovely man mind and when he ended the call he asked me what my plans were for the rest of the day. I’m not sure my answer of “well mate as you can tell I’ve had a twat of a Saturday so I’m gonna spend the rest of it getting blind fucking drunk” was the one he expected but he humoured me like the customer service trooper he obviously is and laughed like it was the funniest thing anyone has ever said to him. Kudos to you, Ryan. You’re doing your employer proud.

Yes coops, just to make it clear. I am talking about next renewal time, once you get asked the question have you been involved in accidents? As far as I’m concerned non fault or actually AT fault, the premiums increase
I’d say that’s more likely a case of them thinking that you’re a loyal customer and them trying it on.

You didn’t tell him of your faith in the Swans delivering a road win and your anticipation of Russell Martin delivering zero shots on goal?

You could also claim for stress and anxiety mind, get a paper off the doctors?

Six months on the settee watching cricket, and as much diazepam you could shake a stick at 🤷‍♂️

I am talking about the renewal sites, it's a standard question..

Just to prove I am not going crazy, this text is taken from google when I ask the relevant question.

Yes, insurance premiums can increase after a non-fault accident, even if you have protected no-claims bonus:

  • Claims history
Insurance providers consider drivers who have made a claim, whether it was fault or non-fault, to be a higher risk in the future.

  • Risk-based insurance
Insurance is based on risk and statistics, so every incident can impact your renewal premium.

  • Spread out costs
Insurers charge drivers with a claim more to spread out their costs across a larger group of people.
No-claims bonus protection is an optional add-on that allows you to make claims without affecting your no-claims bonus. However, it doesn't guarantee that your premium won't increase.

You should still declare any non-fault accidents to future insurers.

You can also consider increasing your voluntary excess to lower your monthly premiums. However, you'll need to pay both the voluntary excess and the compulsory excess set by your insurance provider if you ever have to claim.

Hmm, fair enough. With the exception of my pheasant incident I’ve had a good record. I’ll shop around every year as it only takes a few minutes in the price comparison websites. If I’m getting a hike in premiums then I will move without any qualms.

Aĥhh mate, wasters that claim whiplash falsely are the worst, wasting NHS time and skiving off work just to get a payout.
Bad form that ...
Plus the King of the DVLA making a fraudulent car insurance claim isn’t a good look on the front of the Sun on Sunday.

On this I know I'm not wrong, it's happened to me twice. And I think it's unfair to get stiffed for 500-700 pounds over the next 5 years for a non fault accident. Regards to the whiplash claim, yeah I know it's wrong, but I was just thinking of a way for ECB to offset the incoming 500 plus out of pocket for the next 5 years.

Since whiplash claims have been capped, I doubt that even making a successful whiplash claim, would cover ECBS impending insurance increase, even for the first year.

Obviously I was aware ECB, had put this on a public forum, and it would be a bit silly to make a claim under those circumstances, but I think I would, cause I know what's going to happen, Sitting at traffic lights!! BANG rear ended, car written off, and then a 20-30% increase on the yearly renewal. It's crazy.

Well I’m not claiming for any injury I haven’t sustained. That’s how premiums keep going up and up.
Fair enough, but you would be surprised how much the courtesy car you are about to receive is going to cost, even for under a month.

I know because I have seen the bill once, before the other party paid, under a month nearly 2 grand, and that was 2016, something like 26 days use, and people are worried about swinging the leg for a paltry 150 quid whiplash payout to cover the impending insurance increase..

I agree that it’s wrong to get shafted for something that was not your fault.

Anyway, back to the weather.

Apparently no more rain for a week after tonight, dry but cold.
Happy days 🫶
Glad to see the back of it, been in all day, but had to go outside earlier, to save all the rubbish and recycling from going everywhere, was crazy windy and cold as hell, according to my phone, it was saying, 7 degrees, but feels like -7, now at the moment it's showing 6 degrees, feels like -6, and it certainly does.

That’s good. Give me cold, bright and crisp any day of the week (apart from May to October 😂).
