Reports in London say that there are no issues with the signing of Bashir Humphreys and that an announcement from both clubs is imminent to confirm his season long loan. Humphreys will be the fourth signing of deadline day and follows Kristian Pedersen, Josh Tymon and Jamal Lowe into the club and adds...

As far as transfer deadline days go (and transfer windows in general) this is definitely one of our better ones since the yanks took over.

We strengthened between the sticks by bringing in Rushworth on loan. Other than the mistake for the goal in the first game against Birmingham he hasn't been at fault for any of the other goals we conceded and we might arguably have been even worse off without him.

Losing Ntcham and Piroe is a tough pill to swallow but the former was happy to force his move and I am fine to see him gone and the latter will be missed but Yates has the potential to be a 20+ goal man if we can get him service.

Defensively losing Manning hurt but we have proper cover for both full back positions for the first time in about 4 years and have brought in some quality and some experience to boost the back three who were struggling for form and confidence and lets face it are all youngsters with no one to lead the line.

Patino and Ginnelly give some quality, goals and creativity in midfield and we have gone from expecting to have only one striker in Cullen to now having Cullen, Lowe, Yates and Kukharevych (with Ginnelly also capable of playing up front).

Suggests the plan is to persevere with 5 at the back and no wingers though

Rushworth is not an upgrade on Benda, that’s clear to see. He struggles with the ball at his feet, arguably worst than Fisher (who is also s good shot stopper). He’s made several suicide passes now.

We’re definitely weaker without Piroe and we’ve not replaced Ntcham with similar (but do have different options with Ginnelly and Kukharevych agreed, although neither have been 1st team options yet).

Let’s wait and see on the fullbacks. Manning was one of the best players in the league. Key has started well, Ashby not so well. The new left backs, we’ll have to see.

All way too early to say this is a good window, and from the signings we’ve seen to date only Key and arguably Yates have really shown they strengthen us.

I would absolutely not call Fisher a good shotstopper, its arguably the weakest side of his game. Rushworth did make a few hospital passes in the first couple of games but he looks to have cut that out of his game now.

Ginnelly has been a bit behind on fitness due to his injury in preseason and Kukharevych didn't have a preseason at all. Along with Yates, Cullen and Lowe (the latter two of which I feel can play in an attacking midfield role) up front we have good strength in depth.

Now that we have signed several players who can play left back or left sided centre half I expect to see Key shifted more to his natural right side and competing with Ashby for right wingback. We already know how good Key is, I expect him to be even better on his preferred side with his right foot.
