Just been announced on Sky news
Ruth Madoc aged 79 has passed away.
Sad news
RIP.😔

I heard she was brought up in Llansamlet.
Some lovely stories shared about her on TV today.

Slightly related, Is Llansamlet the area from the Halfway House pub to the Jersey Arms ?
Used to spend my weekends and school holidays near to where Harry Rhys's shop used to be. I think the Two Ronnie's used that shop for the 4 candles sketch.
She was indeed brought up in
Llansamalet, and I believed she lived with her grandmother on Peniel Green Road, just up from the Library on the cross. Coincidentally her father owned the land on which Cwm cottages were built, no longer there, but on the site of the current Texaco garage, and where my wifes grandparents and mother used to live.
