• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Just out of curiosity what does that mean? I have never heard that expression before..

You don’t know what Blu Tack is?

I know what blue tack is, just don't understand your reference to blu tak on ceiling.

I took it what he said, that he bought them back in the day! My view on this is regardless of what he was doing the swans should back off with the court case.

I agree with this. I don’t know the ins and outs of the legalities but I wonder what’s to be gained by hauling a long standing fan through the courts.

The problem for the club is legally if they let this one go what about the next “long standing fan” who wants to make a few bob, equally are the shirts manufactured to European safety standards?

If something goes wrong in a Swans branded shirt the club will be the ones with the reputation tarnished. I am pretty certain the club would have fired a shot across his bow first before instigating court action, so something has gone wrong after that initial warning.

If he has been warned and kept selling then he is a mug.

From what I understand, I don't think you can get to court action without a cease and desist order from the legal team.

Our commercial department is rubbish, we know this. He identified a gap in the market but it's a gap that legally only the club could fill.

If these were fake current shirts then the council's trading standards team would be all over it.

The reality is that he has made money off the club's image and they correctly want it to stop.

If someone was stealing my IP or creative content, I'd want them to stop too. This is not a big fish squashing a small fish thing, legally if it is an IP issue then he's taken money from the club's pocket.

These cases are always expensive for all parties.

I see little benefit in this going to court and neither side will come out of it well.

The bit that makes no sense is Rob says he stopped selling the offending items when he was asked 6 months ago. His posts since then are his own shirt collection (which is extensive) and I think he was selling mugs etc that I don't think infringed copyright.

So it seems that something has inflamed this to keep it going and the club seem hell bent on taking it all the way which suggests whatever inflamed it was pretty bad.

I hope common sense prevails and its resolved amicably without the bad press that will follow (whatever the rights and wrongs)

When you wake up every morning the first thing you’ll see is a gift from God.

Hmm where is the vomit smiley, I can't find it.. Only joking, And I was only joking about using it as a guard for fireplace, it was meant in jest, but on reflection I need to be a bit nicer.
