Russ Off

As for as all of us. They’ve just never come across as being invested or engaged have they? I’m not sure what the Winter appointment was all about either - he seems toothless/pointless. Maybe that’s harsh as I don’t see what he’s doing, but shouldn’t he be the one finalising deals (within the financial constraints of the owners).

(Should have been a reply to Lisa)

Regardless of what he said/did or didn't do at the presser, they could just sack him with a record of 2 wins in 15. It be totally justified tbf.

Great post. 2 wins in 15 says it all.Shocking game management from Russ today.

Russ you've got more chance of getting a job by leaving on your own steam than getting fired. Honest.

Martin won't walk away. He will stay until pushed. Who would the Yanks appoint next? Maybe Brad Bobley again 😒
The way the club is going, you kind of wonder if only there was a bit of forward thinking as we are a few signings short of being right up in the mix. We may still be come the end of the season, but even adding up the points dropped from winning positions, we'd be in th top 6 easy.

Just watched his press conference. The man looks about as dejected as I’ve seen him, or any of our managers for a long long while. As much as I’ve criticised him in the past, including today, I also empathise with the bloke. I’m sure a lot of us have been in jobs where we’ve asked “higher ups” for something to help us and make our jobs easier and been ignored, I know I have and it’s frustrating. Whether the guy stays or goes, I’m starting not to care anymore, these owners are slowly but surely sucking my love for this club dry.

Agreed. Came away from the game today and felt absolutely certain that current owners and management team are simply out of their depth. The defending today was shocking. Birmingham weren’t great and they scored 4 piss easy goals away from home. It was an embarrassment, chuck the ball in the box…….goal. After this debacle my brother and I both agreed, we don’t care anymore and why should we with such incompetent owners. They are hopeless in every aspect. Selling assets for a fraction of their market value and a complete inability to attract anyone to the club is a recipe for disaster. I’m neither a Martin fan or critic but it was terrible today and I do feel any poor sod would be in the same boat given the constraints they are working within!

I felt a bit sorry for him, and he did admit to a mistake with subs. Come on though, over 80 games all in and nothing has improved. Today wasn’t down to the January window. Our goalkeeper - HIS goalkeeper - is utter gash; invisible. That signing made us weaker for no reason. Now he’s moaning because we don’t get another one, or a forward? Here’s a tip. It’s the defence. It’s your job. You weren’t looking to buy any defenders. Improve it.

Again agreed, I ain’t going to try and defend it (what’s that I hear you ask) but how can he improve any aspect of our squad? He’s given targets to the owners and they’ve provided exactly none. I know we weren’t in the market for defenders as far as we know but that doesn’t really matter I don’t think. The squad is weakened after another transfer window and that blame lies solely at the door of the owners. That is irrefutable surely!

Another of his signings - Darling - contributed to the 3rd and 4th goals conceded by allowing the strikers to get on the wrong side of him.

He’s rubbish. I can’t bring myself to dislike him and I don’t want to. He seems like a genuinely lovely fella. But he’s so far out of his depth as a football club manager it’s embarrassing for him and us.

Who would people want in if he did leave/sacked?

Lampard?
Gerrard?
De Boer?
Bruno Lage?
Ian Evatt?
Van Bronckhorst?
Toshack?
Tate?
Shumacher?
Dean Smith?
Oscar Garcia?
Wilder?

Maybe the owners want him to walk. No payoff needed then.

Possibly so but either way I think it’s a relationship that is pretty much beyond repair.

You can draw a line through many of those names on the basis of our budget.
