Exactly.
It proves nothing either way.
So why some would have a dig and want to class him as a " largely lower league player" is strange?
However well or otherwise he is doing in management, his playing career is irrelevant.
I am sure many great players ( Bobby Charlton, Hoddle - sure there are many more ) were no grest shakes at management?

Who had this dig? I can’t see one.

If he was described as being a largely lower league player, and he was largely a lower league player. I don’t see the issue.
