• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

It makes for pretty damning reading, interesting as well that the Premier League washed their hands of it saying that its not a Premier League problem. A lot of the evidence in the article is circumstantial but there is certainly enough to connect the dots and make a case.

It speaks much of Martin's moral character that he would do that even if he may feel he wasn't properly backed by the club in January 2023 (though considering his track record with players that may well be justifiable in my opinion).

The club looks like it wants its pound of flesh be it from Southampton or from Martin. From Martin's perspective it may be "just" 750k financially but in terms of reputation it would be hugely damaging for his career, any future club who does due diligence may well decide they don't want to touch him with a 10 foot pole, especially if he is found guilty.

Strikes me of someone who has the morals of an alley cat.

What he says and does are two completely different things.

People bang on about Martin saying how well respected and how much he loved the club, that article says completely different, the January window when we signed no one, most teams signed 1 player in that window, let’s face it he would have left if Southampton came in regardless of the board wanting him out.

If he does well at Southampton any future club looking to employ him wouldn't give a toss about him being found guilty of anything.

Morals and football seldom go hand in hand.

His biggest achievement with us was dividing the fanbase. Those who saw straight through him compared to those who think he walks on water.

Cooper used to get his haircut at the same salon as me, a very nice man who always left a generous tip, according to the staff.

Fanbase was already dividing before he came.
When Cooper left, some fans instantly clawed onto Martin due to their dislike of Cooper and the Cooper fans instantly resented Martin due to those fans hailing Martin when he was appointed.

The divide had already set in, some conscious of it with some totally unaware of it.
It will be denied by a certain group though.
