In fairness you could stand up in Cardiffs stadium and not block another fans view, who is probably 5 rows away.

Perhaps this is a cheaper option trial and they chose a sparse stadium to throw in the mix.

The Welsh Assembly or the Welsh FA haven't made any grants to Cardiff for this so far as we all know.

In any case, this is something that is long overdue. People who don't go to football matches usually think that it's a choice between seating or safe standing, but all of us who actually go to matches know that the real choice is between safe standing and unsafe standing, because there are people standing at every match but squashed in front of seats. Good luck to the guinea pigs, and let's see what happens.

Does anyone have a link to what they are actually trying to do? At a guess, they would construct different types of enclosures at different stadiums and see what works the best, because it would seem pointless to do the same thing at every ground.
