• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Unfortunately we have no moral high ground now. If Coops had the chequebook, he’d probably try and gazump them.

Wasn't Dennis Lawrence that tall? The only defender I ever saw duck when a cross came in.

Who are we to laugh at what strikers other teams are signing. I'm still furious that we knew we needed a striker when Brewster went back to Liverpool and we went all through last season without addressing the issue. In my opinion it was our lack of goals that ultimately cost us promotion last season and you had to go all the way down to Middlesbrough in 10th place to find a team with a lower goals tally than us.

Brewster played 22 games for us in the 19/20 season. We won just 36% of them, including just two of the first 11. He wasn't some magic solution that somehow turns Cooper's team into winners. If we'd brought him into a side already running out of both ideas and steam I doubt he'd have had much impact.

You're right in that a lack of goals cost us, but that wasn't because we didn't have the players capable of providing them. It's because we had a manager more interested in maintaining shape and defensive stability than what was going on in the final third.
