• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Could have ended 4-4.....second half, where were we?

I'm not sure that game could have ended 4-4, Rotherham had some pressure towards the end but Freddie wasn't troubled? Other than trying his best to create trouble for himself!

Been there, done that in the 70's 😂

Dai Gwyther frigging 1-4 at one point

And speaking of which, we were promoted by that one point weren't we...

From PSumbler's match report. Surely this would be given a Yellow for ungentlemanly conduct?

"Bidwell had a shit brilliantly blocked by a desperate Rotherham defender whilst another header flashed across the goal with it just needing a touch"

Nor I.
For me this was a match we would have lost in previous seasons.
Big physical side, after the international break and they are down the bottom of the league. Incredible how often we have lost when these 3 factors come into play.
Very good first half and we had to battle in the second.
They had a decent call for a penalty and we had a scramble after Freddie dropped the ball on his line when he should have easily collected.
Other than that we missed what must be deemed 3 open goals.
Yes their goalie perhaps could have done better but it came through a crowd of players. How often do you see that happening?
Score could easily have been 4 - 1. We have showed we can win playing decent football at times and also grind out a result when it gets ugly.
I am happy and still optimistic for the future.

Flushed, not flashed

Always good to check back for typos.
Having said that sometimes they can turn out better than originally intended ;-)

Would that have been our second goal or the turd?

I agree in previous seasons we would have lost that, but as you say, 3 open goals ...would have given us 4 , they had one off the line, and I think it was a Pen, and if you are able to watch the game again, they had a few opportunities (not close) that they messed up.

Missing our two most consistent players this season today, should really have been out of sight by half time, played some fluid football on the worst pitch since we moved to the Liberty, confidence growing game by game...
Onwards and upwards 🙌

Grinding out a win in a game like that makes me optimistic but I really think we need to get a striker in January - we're missing too many chances.
Also what the hell's going on with our pitch, it's awful?

Only a few days later after that 4-4 we conceded another 3 goals at home v Tranmere, but we scored another 4 to win 4-3.

Exciting but mad times.
