The Planet Swans Match Report
The Swansea City striker collected a Mark Gower pass turned, created space, and despatched a low shot past Mark Shwarzer into the bottom of the net to cancel out one of the unluckiest goals the Swans will concede this season.
And it was the least that the Swans deserved after a scintilating display that will earn many plaudits - not least from all of those working on ITV who were gushing praise on the Swans after a display at a level that we watch week in week out.
I get almost fed up of saying it but these times are so special and we must enjoy them. The football we play is outstanding, the technical ability of the players is top class and we have a knack of making teams look ordinary. And don't forget today's opponents are a Top 10 Premier League side.
And had it not been for a rare Dorus flap at a corner that allowed the ball to rebound off Garry Monk for the opening goal the Swans would be the first name into the last 8 draw rather than an either or as we will be come 6.30pm tomorrow.
But who is to say that we cannot go to Fulham and win the game - after all we know after today that we certainly don't have to be in awe of the Premier League team and can more than match our own.
An almost familiar line up for the Swans saw a team of
Dorus
Rangel Monk Williams Tate
Dyer Britton Gomez Allen Gower
Scotland
You start to wonder if Mark Gower is destined ever to score for the Swans and before the game was half hour old he had spurned two very good chances - denied first by the inside of the post and second by Shwarzer.
The first chance was - as you would expect - superbly created as Gower passed inside to Scotland who held the ball up and played a perfect pass into the path of Gower who beat the Fulham keeper but had to watch on in agony as the ball came back off the inside of the post and he was unable to connect with the rebound.
If that was a good chance, the second was even better. A thirteen pass movement from side to side left Rangel to look up and play in a perfect cross to the back post for Gower who met the ball but not with 100% perfection and it was pushed away for a corner to the frustration of the winger.

Swansea were in total control with Britton, Allen and Gomez controlling the middle of the park and Fulham really creating nothing of note. Indeed they went in at half time one goal up but only thanks to an amazing stroke of luck. Dorus flapped at a corner and the ball deflected off Garry Monk - totally unaware - to give the visitors a very undeserved lead.
Roberto's half time comment was one of praise for his team and the second half started in a similair vein with Gower denied by another good save before Scotland struck with a piece of individual brilliance.
That spurred Swansea into some more fantastic football. Passes were made from left to right from forward to back and everybody was in top form as Fulham at times seemed to be purely chasing shadows. Another goal would have been what the Swans would deserved and it was a mixture of bad luck and desperate defending that stopped it happening.
The FA Cup dream for this season very much though continues to live on and after today's display then many more will be joining the queue of people who praise one of the best footballing sides I have ever seen. And when an ITV pundit compares it to some of the football that Spain play you just know everything is good.
A very proud day to be a Swansea fan and certainly don't write us off as yet.

Swansea manager Roberto Martinez:
We created the better chances, we were very disappointed with the goal that we conceded, so overall I'm proud of the players.
Today was a big test playing against a Premier League side. The goal came at the wrong time but the reaction we had, we controlled things, we created good chances.
Fulham manager Roy Hodgson:
We certainly weren't at our best. I thought it was a jaded performance from our side.
All credit to Swansea, I thought their performance was excellent. Their high energy passing and movement was very good and we really had to dig in very deeply and rely heavily on our defensive organisation to keep our heads afloat.

Fulham struck twice in four minutes to knock Championship side Swansea City out of the FA Cup and set up a plum quarter-final with Manchester United.
Jason Scotland's 19th goal of the season gave Swansea the lead when he poked the ball past Mark Schwarzer.
But Clint Dempsey inspired Fulham's comeback as the American headed home Simon Davies' 77th minute corner.
Bobby Zamora completed the fight-back as he headed in his fourth goal of the season from Davies' superb cross.
Swans boss Roberto Martinez hoped to celebrate his two years in charge at the Liberty Stadium by causing another Cup upset after knocking out holders Portsmouth in the previous round.
But Fulham, who have lost just once at Craven Cottage this season, showed why their home is such a fortress by showing resilience to win their fifth-round replay.
Welsh international Davies, whose local team was Swansea, played a key role in this win against the side from his home-land.
And his 10th-minute corner almost caught the Swans cold, with Erik Nevland meeting it at the far post and causing a brief moment of panic in the box.
In-form Swans striker Scotland, though, gave Fulham a warning sign of what was to come when his 12th-minute shot brought a good save from Cottagers' goalkeeper Schwarzer.
And Brede Hangeland had to react quickly to stop Guillem Bauza poking home the rebound.
Schwarzer then saved well from Jordi Gomez's stinging shot before, at the other end, Swansea's Leon Britton was inches away from conceding a penalty as his handball was deemed to be a fraction outside the area.
Dorus De Vries showed his quality to save an Nevland volley but the Swans keeper appeared beaten when Hangeland's towering header from Davies' corner crashed against the woodwork just before half-time.
But Scotland managed to succeed where Hangeland did not 90 seconds into the second-half when he was given too much room by Aaron Hughes and John Pantsil, who between them allowed Mark Gower to roll the ball to Scotland 15 yards out.
The Trinidad and Tobago international finished to score his 14th goal in 15 games - and his third against top-flight sides - as he showed why Premier League clubs are monitoring his progress.
Fulham captain Danny Murphy, like star striker Andy Johnson rested after their second game in three days, replaced Oliver Dacourt, who limped off after an hour.
Zamora, who scored in Sunday's 2-0 win Premier League over West Brom, missed two good chances to level and both were blocked after ricochets in the penalty box.
Then Davies was denied from three yards before stinging De Vries' palms with a fiery shot.
And the USA midfielder nearly doubled his tally moments later after Zamora put him one-on-one with De Vries, the Dutchman made a fine sprawling save.
But he had no chance a minute later when another Davies cross found Zamora and he nodded back across goal to make it 2-1 to give the Championship play-off chasers just their second defeat in 19 games.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson:
I thought we showed incredible energy just one day after playing a tough Premier League tie against West Brom and I can't praise the team enough for the way they prepared for this game and the way they've gone about their business from the very first minute.
They also showed great character to come back from 1-0 down, albeit it was against the run of play. There were a lot of goal chances and they were mainly at one end of the field. It was a very fast, very intensive game and I have to praise Swansea who did very well to live with us.
You are always nervous when you go one goal down because you need to score two goals and you know how difficult two goals are to come by at any level of competition.
But two goals, I think, was scant reward. Had we not won the game we'd have been sitting here feeling very sorry for ourselves after giving such a good performance.
Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez:
Sometimes in the FA Cup you need that little bit of luck and not just tonight, but in the original tie we didn't have that.
I'm proud of my team, we were ourselves and controlled the game for large spells and scored. But then we found it a bit difficult to get that pass, to get that composure where we could have dictated the final part of the game - but that is being very critical.
It has been a fantastic cup run and now we must focus on the league but I'm sure the fans will be proud of the players.
We are very disappointed to get knocked out of the cup after competing really well but have many positives after a great cup run.
