There's a very Paul Clement element to the way we're going about things. We seem far more interested in spending the first half of games containing the opposition. That's all well and good when the opposition is demonstrably better than us, but this is the Championship. Most teams aren't.

Oko-Flex did everything supporters would have wanted of him today. He was fast, aggressive and looked to take the game to a terrible Wigan team. Martin hooked him at half time. I have doubts about Martin because no team that leaks goals as easily as we do will ever get promotion. Now he's doing his best to nullify us going forward too.

Hope to hell the club aren't dumb enough to offer him a contract extension this early.

Don't get caught up in it when we win a few. This is us under Martin. Always has been, always will be.

Despite the press reports, Silverstein stated in the Trust interview that they weren't.

It was always madness to suggest negotiating when he was on a good run. Do wonder if that was more agent talk than anything.

This was written after the Bristol game: (and I was rightly asked to keep the powder dry - til now):-

>>As feared after a decent run, Martin reverts to Martinball v1.0 and we were shite, in the main.

What on earth is the point of Martinball other than an extension of his ego ? It's a losing brand, in so many ways. The ugly Autumnal pattern is re-emerging. Contract papers will be poised, yet again.

72% possession, 650 passes mostly in the wrong places, less shots on target isn't right, in so many ways. As per.

Being picked off for being so consistently vulnerable at the back is now beyond unacceptable for the proper, discerning fan.

Let's hope the senior players yet again wrest control and we revert to the pragmatic winning ways>>

--------------------------------------------------------------

The bleak mid-Winter : Wigan - we deteriorated to +700 largely meaningless passes in the wrong place. And less shots on target.

Russ' schmoozing talk won't work with the powers that be this mid-Winter. By all accounts.

We need to see a reversion to the winning formula, with the senior players wresting control, again.
