Defender with a better first touch than Yates usually manages. Former Rotherham player, was destiny surely.

Its more than other players had managed and it still needed to be put away
Good for him if we do play with width and pace then it would suit him a lot more than the route one turds he was being forced to eat by Duff

Darling needs to be careful with these silly dives. Already on a yellow.

Key was playing well under Duff, we only lost that when he got injured and Ashby was playing.

Not a lot wrong with that cross from Tymon, perhaps you could only argue it had a touch too much pace on it

I stand by my belief that Yates isn't the dross that some people have made him out to be
He has been made to look sub par and anonymous by the type of football that Duff had been determined to play
As has been said he is 5'9" so long balls launched into orbit for him to contest was never ever going to be his game
He either needs players breaking the defensive line to cut back or cross low into the box for him or another striker to play off who can win those balls

That's not what Jasper was suggesting

The idea was that Yates was held back by Duff's lack of wide play getting deliveries in the box, which ignored the period of the season where Key was out best player and doing exactly what he has today. Losing Key was definitely a blow, but Yates was hardly in great form before that and had justifiably lost his place prior to the injury crisis bringing him back in to the starting lineup.

Made tough work of this. Real relegation 6 pointer feel.
