Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1 | Att: 14,149 | The EFL Championship

Didn’t realise Weds are as high as 11th. This won’t be a pushover even if we do turn up.
I don't think after an extremely dogged and deserved but scraped win yesterday that could really have ended badly in the first half, we could see anyone as a pushover really Coops. I'd be surprised if SW are any different to Coventry in mid table quality, so we'll need to be right on it from the start to win. I am much more hopeful now as a win breeds confidence and unity and we were desperate for both.

Doesn't help Vip at all to start one game, then sit on the bench for three. He's clearly got something about him, but always looks out of sharpness - his heavy touch for the goal yesterday absolutely reeked of someone getting back into things.

I'd much prefer we stuck with him as 9, and rotated Bianchini onto the wings, Eom into 10, and moved things about as an alternative from there.

I'm convinced Vip will come good.
I'd rather MPH than Eom. He is a waste of a player.

I hope he comes good as we really need him to, but I've not seen much progress with him so far. Does get into good positions occasionally as we saw yesterday with the goal attempt, but just always seems to fall short of being effective enough to impact games.

One thing I like to see is if we are abandoning playing out from back at risk and going long with Vig we need to pace up front. Vip didn't just win anything up top he was nowhere near with Bristol City having free headers.

Back home again. It seems we do better away these days. I wonder why that could be.

Not so sure that's correct.

Sunday was our first win away in five attempts.
We have picked up 20 points at home and 17 points away from home this season.

Our home form is 21st out of 24
Our away from is 11th out of 24.

I was quite surprised to see that it's so close and despite taking 3 points more at home, it suggests that being 21st in home form is the reason why we are struggling.

We need to pick up our home form, maybe the drop in numbers isn't helping?

The drop in numbers isn't just associated with the results though.
Yes, they have been awful at times & the football has been soul destroying, but the overall matchday at the stadium is horrific.
The food & drink are expensive & generally crap.
The WIFI or phone signal inside the stadium is often non existent.
There's nothing outside or inside the ground to get peoples attention and make for a good match day experience and it costs a fortune to go.
So improving the performance on the pitch is obviously a priority, but they need to get their arse's in gear & work on the match day experience to get numbers back up.

Also the home team has the pressure of needing to be the one on the front foot which doesn't generally help us when we struggle to create.
