Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 Hull City 0 | Att: 18,775 | The EFL Championship

Perhaps the ref saw the first half highlights and thought he better give a penalty as he had totally moshed the outcome by not giving the penalty and, more importantly, not sending of mccoughlin or whatever his name was. To compound that he decision he books Allen for a perfectly timed tackle rendering part of his game ineffective for the rest.
We probably deserved the win just about, and 4 on the trot with 0 goals against and we can't complain. Allen probably had to come off because you just couldnt trust the ref and no real alternative to Fulton who did what he had to because he had to. He did stay away from stupid challenges after he was booked and is one of the few who won't get out muscled.
Allen Obrien Tymon and especially Franco had good games.
3 left and let's see if we can manage to keep the ball out of our net for the rest of the season.

I’m sure the ref was tossing a coin to make his decisions. He was all over the shop. Bottled that second yellow for their number 6. But then Ronald conned him for the first yellow by hanging a leg, so maybe he was levelling it up. God knows. I was expecting him to give them a pen for nothing.

Job done against a shite side fighting for their place in the league next year. Another 3 points and clean sheet, what’s not to like.

Haven’t checked on Twitter to see how our new Swedish football experts saw it (the Russy fans).

You can't be serious about Fulton. A total liability.

Don’t even think about asking those who didn’t break that particular news. They’re a bit upset.

Hull were always going to scrap and make the game as messy as possible
For the most part we didn't let them drag us down to their level though the lack of quality in the final third made the game look closer than it was

I am happy to see though that the Hull version of McLaughlin is just as much a liability on the pitch as ours

Should have seen red after 35 minutes, ref bottled it and Hull coaches wasted no time taking him off

O'Brien was excellent, Vipotnik put himself about and was a nuisance all game. Denied a penalty and won a penalty that should never have been given and got himself a goal with an excellent penalty kick

Franco for me was man of the match, he was everywhere and I lost count of how many times he turned over possession. He demonstrates perfectly that you can be aggressive and not pick up pointless yellow cards within minutes of coming on (see Jay Fulton).

A great point made about Franco and Fulton. Franco was outstanding and definitely the MOTM, Fulton was the Clown of the Match, getting himself booked for trying to be too clever and getting caught in possession. We desperately need to replace him with an aggressive midfielder with fitness, skill and confidence.

Didn't think it was possible to dislike people who arnt here anymore, but Russell and his fckn useless bald cretin of a mate . To think the crap we played under them.
We are now playing with more purpose, bit more direct and defending properly.
Not hard is it you 2 fckn dicks.
Great to see the crowd enjoying it again, not a wiff of maybe doing the scum a favour, and why not, it's lovely to see us getting stuck in and winning.
Still room for improvement, 3/4 players with Modric' endorsement and we'll be up there.

I wouldn't even call it 'more direct', it's just we're not twatting about with it at a snails pace in midfield, allowing the opposition plenty of time to get back into shape and get the cigars out.

We are moving the ball much quicker on the deck, and if a pass can be played forwards, we do it. It is not rocket science, but we look all the better for it.

Getting rid of The Gnome in midfield is the best business we've done in years.
