Weird game so far. We’ve done things we never do, like an edge of the box free kick, and whanged loads of balls to nowhere. Alternatively trying too much tippy tippy in too tight situations and losing it. Tymon has been awful, and worrying. It just feels mostly like a virtual reality PlayStation game to me . But I do have a bad cold.

Would love to see us beat these again. Still not forgiven the naughts sending off game and offside hat trick.

Half time thoughts:

Vipotnik's best game so far as an overall showing, he has taken down balls from deep and held up play and brought others into play. He has had one chance and he took it excellently.

Cullen's free kick was Sigurdsson-esque, you won't see a better free kick than that all season. Been involved a lot in the build up play and the number 10 really seems to be suiting him.

One weak bit of defending has let Sunderland back into this, other than that they have hardly ever looked threatening at all. I think they would have no complaints if they had gone into this 2-0 down at half time.

Defending for their goal has become our Achilles heel. Again. The Cabungle factor is again gnawing at our collective psyche, most esp Matty’s who is being forced to drop ever deeper, thus exposing little Franco for the diminutive little midfielder (in a sea of English giants) that he is.

Another double whammer which Lukey boy needs to resolve.
