• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The biggest worry is there seemed to be no discernable game plan or style of play from us
I understand what you are saying but I wouldn't be looking at that at this stage. I would be looking at individual performances and fitness.

Going by the size of the squad, I think Sheehan would have been keeping a close eye on those youngsters and seeing if any can step up as a regular squad player. I think there might be a few discussions in the next week or so.

There was positives and negatives there tonight..

I was impressed with all the new signings especially Widdel, he looks real class and others when match fit will improve further.

Fulton forced in a CB role showed he can't play there either in this team also going through the back of a Cheltenham player in a friendly on the half way line, why?

Again, letting in goals from crosses especially against lower league opposition should be ringing alarm bells

Cullen is no single striker if even a striker at all, needed a focal point first half. The crosses were better than last season.

Bringing five kids on at once killed the game, shades of Martinball happy just to keep possession in our half was a hard watch. When we went long it was pretty aimless.

Hopefully the next two matches focuses on what our Boro line up will be looking like.

Fulton and Cooper becoming the obvious elephants in the room.
I think tonight’s starting line-up will be close to the Boro line-up with hopefully a fit Cabango in for Santos. Big question then is who plays up front - Cullen, Vipotnik or New Striker.

No Ginnelly, Yates or Bianchini.

Wonder if we have any offers for any?

Every season we have complete overreaction on here to preseason friendlies.

The ONLY things I would take from this evening are the things I have thought all summer. We need a striker if we have any ambition because ours aren’t very good. We need an O’Brien or someone like him in midfield, we need at least one more body at the back as we have no cover either at full back or centre back and Fisher is not good enough.

I hope we have plans on at least three of those fronts.

It’s a huge shame if O'Brien has gone to Wrexham as it seems he has. The new players in midfield look nice but I think we need some real experience. We’ve lost a lot of experience over the summer in the middle and unfortunately the experience we are left with is mainly Fulton…

You need to remember that youngsters are normally introduced to the first team one or two at a time - and they are surrounded by high quality and a stable team framework.
We are judging these youngsters on a performance where 7 of them came on at the same time into a team that totally lacked experience or structure.
Having said that you cannot judge - Congreve was appalling with his deadball delivery, and he is older than the others and has less excuse.
of the others a lot off them look physically quite well developed and technically decent.
Dabrowski has good recovery speed and Parker (A) looks composed on the ball.
That young kid we brought on in goal is never going to make it.
