Sheehan Doesn’t Know What He’s Doing

We won yesterday and a lot of our fans seem absolutely gutted about it.
We were winning 2-1 and the fans were silent for about 30 minutes out of the 45, the Twitter brigade keep plugging the Sheehan hasn't got an identity with memes.. it won't be long and Twitter will be fawning for incompetent Russ to come back.. fair play to him, he's like that American guy who instigated mass suicides in Jones town, because he was Jesus and a disciple of God, bit like Trump fanatics

Do those who complain the most during match day threads actually go to games? The experience of watching the team live as opposed through a screen is huge.

No wrong or right answer to this question, I'm just genuinely interested.

I was pleased with the win...a win is a win...an difference early on with our attacking intent which led to Vips early goal Eoms one on one and Ronalds effort which came off the post...BUT we
thenn eemed to revert to type...or did Manning adjust his Norwich side to slow us down?

What I do know is our tactic of dropping back as teams come at us with defenders backing off to defend the space rather than standing our ground or tackling the opposistion led to Norwich getting back on terms with a sloppy goal.
From then the game was dull untill Vips monster of a winner and then we went full in defensive rather than go for the juggular.

Im pleased we won....Im hoping Sheehan is learning because if he isnt its not going to end well

Other opinions are available

Our stadium is and has been quiet for large parts of games for decades. Only one corner of the ground actually makes any noise.

Only time it hasn't is during the premier league and when we're beating Cardiff at home.

I get the general sentiment on this thread and I've been quite surprised at how quickly the fans have turned on Sheehan. The dissent at the ground is as bad as I can remember for a long time.

I'm dying for him to do well because he seems like a nice bloke and so much of what he does and says I really like.

But at the same time, we are boring to watch, create very few chances and even less excitement.

It's all very well and good saying Vip was knackered but he's the only player we've got who can actually score a goal

Yeah, but usually in the last 15 minutes we would chant the boys home, we didn't, it was silent until the final whistle, odd or people have already pinned Sheehan to a dart board

We've been 2-1 up against Man United in the past and people have been leaving the ground with 10 minute left to play.

Yesterday's atmosphere wasn't any different from usual. I agree abut some people writing Sheehan off in his first managerial blip.

At the end of the day a manager is here to do a job and get us maximum points on the board, abusing a manager in the meantime for the performance not being good is not a good look imo, of course performances of late and stats to go with it are terrible but I don’t think it gives people the right to abuse him for trying, if he fails and the owners feel it’s time for a change now or in 3 months then we should support the manager, but before we scored the 2nd yesterday the ground was booing and it was turning, performances are part of people wanting to pay money at the ground and be entertained which it is not currently and the reason we have such low numbers attending, the south stand has barely anyone there, I’ll still attend matches and buy a season ticket every season no matter what but what’s on show at present isn’t good.

"Yesterday's atmosphere wasn't any different from usual"

It was, when we were struggling under Russ and Williams when leading, we would sing the Woah Woah or barmy army till the end.. it was dead silent..

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I've found the atmosphere quite meh for a while.

The ground will be bouncing Wednesday night when all the other 6000 fans turn up to support the team in the league… I mean league cup.

We play hyper defensively these days and it we are slap bang average mid table team. I think a lot of people are genuinely perplexed by Sheehans change from an attacking biased team when there was a lot at stake (we were not far of the relegation zone when he came in) and with more games could have even made the playoffs.

Fast forward to today - we have signed some excellent attack minded players and Sheehan is sticking with Cullen and Eom! Widdell came in and had twice the energy of both same last Wednesday. We look bereft of ideas and any go forward and our goals came by abandoning Sheehan’s pass it round the back to the wingers and then backwards again by actually playing simple direct pacy passes in front of Vipotnik for him to run on to and smash home. That is his strength - he’s not brilliant in the air and not a goal poacher he just shots the ball as hard as possible with both feet with great accuracy. If I can see that why can’t the coaches??

This board is supposed to be for discussion not a one opinion for all. Some people watching the game from the stands think we should be doing much better than we are and that’s not an unreasonable viewpoint- and it’s not up to Lord Fotheringham Carstairs of Cimla to tell us any different!

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Lord Fotheringham Carstairs of Cimla, he sounds like a decent chap,
