So, has the heating gone on yet?

I’ll own up, last night it was on a for a little bit, first time.

Strange though the thermostat was showing 17.5, but it felt colder than that.

I came home half an hour ago and asked the wife why she had the heating on.

Re-training for her!😁

Definitely 🤣, it’s weird I feel warm tonight. No heating on, could most probably wear a t shirt. But last night, there was definitely a cold nip in the air.

We've had ours on for the odd hour here and there.
You need a 'Snuggly' which I have, bought from Matalan, about 2 year ago, warm as hell they are. No heating on tonight.

Although I did have it on yesterday, but there was definitely a nip in the air.

Yes, wife has had on sporadically since September which drives me insane, plus lights on inside and outside so it’s like Blackpool illuminations.

We are on an old style gas meter - the rotating digits - and I’m resisting a Smart meter even though EDF keep telling me the old meter has to be changed by law.

Have had a few of the log burners going now and then just to keep the chimneys clear but always check for nesting birds or stray birds first - it’s surprising how many birds manage to fall down through the log burner baffle. The cutest one was a soot black Robin who was rescued, cleaned up and released safely.

One of the nicest feature things in the house here is a cast iron cooking range which is always on throughout the year although it is a money pit - I would never get another one.

Got rid of the hot tub as way to expensive to run.

I’ve been away this week and through the power of the Hive app I can see that my wife was attempting to raise temps to a toasty 21°. However I don’t think she cottoned on to the fact that I’ve been sat on the other side of the world recalibrating her to 19°. I shall be having words later.

I'm very much in the camp of turning the heating on if it's cold, we've got central heating for a reason. 😉

I don't think you've got any right to dictate the temperature of the house when you're not in it. It's a human rights issue. 😉

1st December is the earliest the heating goes on here.

Menopause…both of us.

If I was there the conversation would have been about putting a long sleeve on over whatever skimpy garment was being worn (her, not me 😂). We would have layered up before further destroying our planet. I bet this hasn’t happened this week. Anyway I’m on way home to sort it out.
