So from the feedback I'm getting from the other site, and this is not a debate about individuals and the other site, it seems its been reported that the club won't sack Sheehan as the board doesn't want to be seen as as club who keeps sacking a manager ever season and won't spend the money.

So where does that leave us? Do we get behind him, irrelevant of results and performances? Or are we underestimating how ruthless the new owners are? My thinking is it will take us to drop in bottom 3 for anything to happen.

I actually do want Sheehan to succeed, but he has not shown me anything to say he can get us up the table.

If we're about 3 points away from the relegation places by Christmas he'll be gone, our highest spend since our premier league days and we're fighting to stay in the league, he'll be gone.. even if he didn't spend a penny he'd probably get sacked flirting with the trap door

No rose coloured spectacles here, despite a supposed decent summer window - I think there it was mostly a case of never mind the quality, feel the width ( And some existing players eg Ronald, Eom, Cullen, Fulton are in the same category)

Unfortunately, the reality is we are still a mid table average squad, playing some tedious football a lot of the time. I don't think changing Sheehan will make a significant difference.

It will be purely down to stubbornness.

Spot on.

More bums on seats doesn't equate to quality.

People are losing their minds because we spent a few quid on players no better than the average ones we already had (apart from Burgess and Galbraith)

While the coach will always come under scrutiny, and rightly so, the players must also accept the same scrutiny.
How many times have we seen obvious passes take longer than necessary to do ( I'll argue that it is a different view from the stands or TV screens than on the pitch).
Many of our players seem to take an extra touch, or an extra second or so, and the pass is either cut out or the receiving player under more pressure.
Is it down to tactics or just the players not up to the tempo of a game.
In general modern football is all about keeping shape and not pressurising and winning the ball.
Natural ability looks to be coached out of players and support teamwork getting less and less.

You might guess I'm still frustrated from last nights game. (To add to the others)

Good points, and I think it's clear they are being told to take that extra touch or look for perfect opportunity. The way we was playing yesterday was very much like what Arsenal are obsessed with, trying to find the perfect pass that gets us a goal that looks pretty. The amount of times last night and many other games we start to push forward and then we slow it down.

I only briefly listened to the post match interview and "a solution to be more clinical must be found"

Maybe the first thing is a more shoot on sight attitude.

A couple of total training sessions of nothing but shooting from all angles close to the 18yd line could be a start ;)

I would go as far to say, quicken the play up and go for the kill when in advance arears. Yes we will have to pass backwards at times, but it seems that's all we do. Many said it'd like watching Williams or Martin. It's something in between for sure. Also side note, I'm not saying we need to play it at risk with Vig, but not overly into the long passes that rarely succeed. We are a team that likes to play it on the ground.

Mixing it up is needed but most long balls are possession lost.

This coaching lark is easy on a keyboard :D

I see the big scramble is on to be the “I said this would happen before anyone else” has started 🤣🤣

Not aimed at the OP by the way.
