RM owes Grimes pretty much everything for his over extended stay here.

without Grimes, Martinball would have collapsed within months.  Grimes 'got it' and selflessly ran the show for RM, held his vision together by a thread. 

a high functioning, highly consistent, omnipresent thread. captain and leader.

if I was Jake, I'd tie him down with every shred of thread.

Grimes is a bang average championship player that failed miserably at Leeds. I think he has more to offer than Martin allows mind…Potter and Cooper both helped him there. He has done ok for us in terms of keeping us in the championship, but also not captaincy material when things get tough. He’s grown on me and I’m happy if he stays, but Fulton would take his place and we would get some cash, so let’s hope Martin takes him to engage reverse gear at Southampton.

The person I hope he takes most of all is himself; maybe toss them a fish to make it happen.
