Can someone please explain to me the point of putting Josh Ginnelly on the bench today and then not bringing him on when you're 2-0 down, especially when only 4 subs were used today? Rarely have I come across a manager so utterly inept at subs and lacking the ability to influence a game from the bench.

Has he ever made a sub at half time?

"Ginnelly will be like a new signing for us"

He obviously learned from Russell Martin that new signings should not be played

His subs yesterday were irrelevant, he could have brought on Messi, it would have made no difference because he just stuck with The Mental System that wasn't working.

I still haven't got over the fact he just randomly chucks a back 5 into the mix yesterday, after the week we've had. It was proper Bob Bradley stuff and the last thing the players would have needed, implementing a brand new system on the fly. The guy is a pillock.

The text book says to make the first subs at 60 mins. It’s the same text book which has removed the inability for Williams to think for himself.

I have to agree, it says "we're afraid of you and need five defenders". Smacks of surrender before a ball is kicked.
It also leaves us one short in midfield, not that it mattered much anyway.

But that's how mental it was - if it had been done as a 5-3-2 we wouldn't have been overrun in midfield. We'd have been ok.

Instead he had 5 defenders covering 1 player - Simms - and 3 up front, leaving Franco and Fulton thrown to the dogs.

He's a mentalist. And he still didn't change it in the second half.

I've never seen anything like it - apart from Bob Bradley.

The way played like they had all just met for the first time twenty minutes before kick off.

Would never have happened under Grimes leadership 👀👀

We've been playing a back 5 all season.
Grimes and 4 others.

He also referenced how good their strikers were a lot in his interview.

As well as they played/as good as we made them look, they had 6 goals and 3 assists in 57 combined appearances this season before yesterday.

We haven't been playing a back 5. Yesterday was the first time he's fielded 3 proper centre backs. Grimes would drift into deep positions but from midfield. Yesterday was not that. It was something we've not seen before.

My comment was very much tongue in cheek, mate.

Williams can't read the game which is very worrying considering what his actual job is.
