Summer Transfer Window

Wales seems to have been signed as a striker rather than on the wings (which seems to fit what I thought of him)

We probably now need one more central midfielder but after that all of our reinforcing needs to be at the back
Unless something changes we go into the summer with one senior centre half, one left back and one right back. Probably need to sign at least two centre halves and either one of each full back position or one player who can play both sides
I agree central defence is the priority, but I'd say we need at least one CM as second highest priority. We've lost O'Brien and Allen this summer. At the moment Fulton is starting alongside Franco and I doubt many would be happy with that. Even if we do sign an O'Brien replacement, Fulton would be the first off the bench for Franco and the new signing.

I am encouraged by the club having 3 additions secured before the transfer window even opens though, a refreshing change.

I was surprised that Wales was joining us as early as June 1st. This is why:

I can see plenty of activity from us in early June.

Widell plays as a central midfielder. Our current midfield pairing based on the squad we have right now would be Franco as the holding midfielder with Widell as the more roaming box to box number 8. Ahead of them would be Inoussa on the left, Ronald on the right and Eom playing in the hole as a 10

I thought the word on Widell was he was more of a 10? If he's going to be an 8 and replace O'Brien in the team, with Franco being the 6, then I agree the need for CM signings is lessened.

Late on parade.

so 4-2-3-1 then, something we have seen little of from Sheehan but maybe with new players will do ti

Widell plays mainly as an 8, and he is playing that role in the on-going game for AaB, where he's left of a central 3 in a 3-5-2.

Yup shirt number 8 for AaB. 10 minute highlights reel shows him numerous times picking up the ball between the center halves as a holding mf but most of video showcases his central/attacking capabilities

AaB lost at home, which I think means they're relegated with a game to play. Doesn't look as if Widell had the best of games.

A couple of sources have suggested there may be a big jump from the standard of the Danish top flight to the Championship. We may need to be patient with Widell.
