Summer Transfer Window

Harry might be good to announce the same time as the kit release 😉

I am going for June 27th for the kid release 🫣
I still think Harry's staying.

Nothing to do with Harry's but...

Wondering if the club is able to delay announcing any agreed deals until after June for PSR reasons.

Inclined to think if they have deals agreed they will still announce them just not submit formal paperwork until July 1st.

Thoughts anyone?

I'm sure it was said somewhere that our pre season training begins mid June or so
Sheehan won't want players joining late just because of PSR shenanigans if it can be helped

Admittedly the first week or two is just basic tests to get data on physical condition but still

What makes you think he's staying when he's been in talks since January and had improved deals on the table and still not signed?

If we are really really pushing the boundaries of PSR to get him and the club the quality of new players wanted then that will trump Sheehans wish to have everyone in place. No team gets all its transfer business done in the 1st month of a transfer window let alone us

The difference for PSR purposes is marginal.

Regardless of my opinion on Harry staying or going the following is hypothetical no based on knowing anything.

In January. Clubs weren talking to Harry so we put a contract on the table which we thought we could get to sign without breaking the bank. Now he is a free agent we have upped that contract considerably.

It will give him 25k/week. 1.25m a year and is loaded with every conceivable bonus so its a lot closer to being on a par with higher wages on offer at other clubs.

Different management approach under new owners. Unlike January Harry now knows that we are serious about spending sums of money on putting together a challenge for the top. Inoussa 6m and he will be aware of whats happening re incoming players being looked at.

We are now giving longer contracts. Inoussa's is 5 years. So if Harry's new deal is 5 years at 1.25m he knows he will make 6.5m and be set for life. Regardless of all the bonuses.

If he goes to a new club offering him 35k/week that's 5.4m on a 3 year contract..

If he joins a higher spending club whats to say they dont bring in another center back better than Harry and then he sits on the bench or gets farmed out on loan leaving his wife and kid at home for 9 months of the year.

What's to say at the end of that 3 year contract he is no longer seen as an improving, and, many playing years left in his career type of player and has to move again. So relocate wife and kid now and again in 3 years time

If he wants to play in the premiere league. 2 options. Prem team buys him or promotion with a championship club. Whose to say that despite money Birmingham and Wrexham fail this year. Sheff Utd also just failed.

So there are risks to moving versus staying for 5 years knowing your playing every game. Which after the money consideration every player wants to be out on the pitch.

He will be a multi millionaire and set for life.

At the end of the day do not under estimate what we all will do to keep our piece of crumpet happy.

The decision isn't purely about who is offering the highest weekly pay cheque.

As soon as I post this it will probably be on the news wire that he is gone lol

Good luck to him whichever option he chooses

£6.5m+ for Hazza Darling? Football deserves to die.

Just a month's cost over the length of the contract?
Yeah. And if we are that close I’d be surprised.

The two years previous have been £14m and £16m losses. But that’s before add backs. And the academy alone cost a few million per year.

We will have losses this year, not helped by paying O’Brien I suspect, but we will have a gain on Grimes (can’t remember who else we sold).

If we are so tight that one month on a 4 year contract term matters then we need to do a lot better!
