Summer Transfer Window

Ollie Cooper missing. I think Congreve could do a job next season too
Huge step from L2 to the champ.

Take Joel Cotterill at Cardiff, he tore it up in L2 with Cheltenham but struggling since he stepped up to L1.
I know he has taken the extra hour or so in travelling from Neath a bit tougher than he should but he has certainly struggled with the step up.

For me this is where I currently see us a side including where I think players should be playing:

------------------------ Vigouroux ---------------------------
------------------------ Marge Jr -----------------------------
Key ---------- Cabango ------------ EMPTY --------- Tymon
EMPTY ------ EMPTY -------------- EMPTY ---------- EMPTY
------------------ Franco ----------- Widell ------------------
------------------ EMPTY ----------- Fulton -----------------
Bianchini ------------------ Eom --------------------- Ronald
Parker ------------------- Cullen --------------------- Ginnelly
--------------------------- Vipotnik --------------------------
--------------------------- EMPTY ----------------------------

When a balanced side is viewed as one that has two players for every position we are currently eight players off of that goal. New deals for Allen, Naughton and Darling would be huge wins in that respect and there needs to be some serious looks at what youth products we have out that might be worth looking at in pre season to see if they are capable to stepping up.

Josh Thomas has been injured since his 3rd game in for the club we sent him to but had 3 goals in 3 games before that injury
Broome has only played one game all season conceding 4 goals vs Wrexham in the EFL Trophy 1st round
Kuharevych has only 4 goals in 21 appearances in the Scottish Premier League
Congreve is the only one who you could say has looked successful picking up 5 goals and 6 assists out on loan
Yates had 10 goals and 4 assists for a Derby side who without him in fairness would have been relegated

Our most promising prospects were sent out on bizarre loan arrangements, Glory Nzingo was sent out on a 1 year loan in January as was Josh Thomas who did have 3 goals in 3 appearances before his injury
We are going to need strengthening with defenders quite a bit especially if Darling goes.
2 x Centre halves needed.
Do we renew Naughton and looks like Tjoe a On is out the door, we would need a right back and left back if those 2 go.

Midfield wise, we are going to need a holder in the Bodde mould please.

Wingers are very much needed also.

Striker wise, does Sheehan decide to give Yates another crack.

Some
Good signings coming?

He said that there’s already a lot of exciting work happening regarding the transfer window and he’s feeling positive about it

And also confirmed what most of us already know - the Swans have offered him the job but it’s just now finalising contracts and him getting the right assurances about player sales and budgets being available -

He said he didn’t want to just come here to keep the club up but would only agree to stay if there were assurances of everyone being on the same page to move the club forward in the right direction

Could be exciting times ahead

Nice to see he’s ambitious and not just jumping in at any cost, just hope we have a good summer now and Darling re signs.

Congreve Cotterill and Wilson are the players being brought into pre season to see if they can step up according to Montague at the last forum, noticed Wilson was on the bench for Yeovil the other day and only has 1 goal.

That reads like things being done the right way.

This was largely my take, honestly unsure on Yates but neither manager he played under had a clue of how to get a tune out of him so it could very well be a case of another Gyokeres.

I didn't mention Oli Cooper but honestly he like Cullen I don't see where they fit into the team. Lots of running and lots of effort but no product

Woodward and Bates might also be worth giving opportunities to in pre season

Bates has hit two hat tricks since joining the u21 set up
Woodward scored two and had two assists in this game - he is one of our own youth products and has played a lot for both the u18s and u21s this season
