Summer Transfer Window

The biggest plus for me is the obvious improvement in our recruiting strategies. We are getting younger/quicker and if we manage contracts properly we will be building talent that we can sell to look for the next generation. The Darling debacle CANNOT be repeated!!
The unknown is how many of our youngsters can step up to the first team squad and be viable options off the bench. If there are 6-8 ready we are in great shape (keeper, Parker A,Parker S, Cotterill, Lissah, Congreve, Lloyd, Govea, Wilson, Thomas etc)
We HAVE to be better, have a strategy and avoid panic buys - Christie, Pederson, Tjoe A On, Kuharevych, Yates, McLaughlin etc have sucked very important resources out of our club.
Are the Parker chaps brothers?

If he had not played for us previously, how many would be advocating that we sign Brewster on the back of those stats? I bet it’s nobody.
Nobody in their right mind would advocate to sign a striker who has a goals per game ratio of just under 1 in 15 games spread over 5 years if he hadn't had any connection to the club.

Lissah will almost certainly go out on loan next season
Wouldn't be surprised if Arthur Parker and Ben Lloyd did the same
Thomas is on loan in Ireland until the January transfer window
Nzingo is the same but in the US
Govea is also building up his fitness after a long term injury, wouldn't surprise me if he spends time on loan too
Cotterill, Sam Parker and Wilson might be the ones we see most in and around the first team next season
Think Lissah will be involved too

We can get much, much better value for money elsewhere.

We might, and I'm not advocating breaking the bank, which is why I said we should at least have a chat, even though I suspect he'll want too much wages wise.

But there is a player in there somewhere, and don't forget, back in the day we used to be able to revive careers - Dyer, Routledge, Naughton, these players had sort of hit a rut before coming here and making the most of their potential.

On a free, and with realistic demands, I'd have a punt. Get a good pre-season into him and go from there. But obviously the numbers would need to add up else it's not worth pursuing.

It's funny to see the opposition to the idea because when it came to Joe Allen, a number of posters on here were advocating a pay as you play deal if it meant keeping him, even though it was obvious he was cooked.

Keep an open mind....

Is Modric trying to put together his own mini-madrid.

We have Ronald and Zeidane now, close enough 🤣

Agree. Wilson, Cotterill and Sam Parker will be more in line for opportunity. We've not seen enough of Sam in first team over long periods to be convinced or not. As Wilson I'm excited about. Never convinced with Congreeve. Think he might go back out for a bit.

Don’t think Wilson has had a great loan with Yeovil think just the 1 goal.

I'm not knocking his efforts and goals but as i posted on the tread about milleskog the standard of goalkeeping over there is appalling
My biggest take was his confidence to take on people. Hes an improved Ronald. Not a knock on Ronald. But seems step up. Let's hope so.
