EFL Analysis site links us with Bailey Rice of Rangers
!8yo and played v Man U pre season
12 appearances for Rangers
A DM dubbed next big thing 2 years ago, contract to end of season
Seems unlikely
We used to play with a MF 5 quite often under Roberto, though, so you never know

Obviously we've been burned before on PL loans, but I'm excited about this one.

Brighton's aptitude at talent spotting is well known and even though he's still 19, he just had a full season with Sturm Graz including 8 Champions League appearances. I don't want to set my expectations too high, but I'm hoping for a lot from this kid.

Wonder how our midfield will hold up against the Birmingham Watford and Millwall's of the league?.. no doubt we will have the skill and speed but we now have a team of midfield midgets 😁

I'm not sure our midfield needs any more strength in depth

Malick
Galbraith
Franco
Widell

Thats already four players for two central midfield places and thats without Cooper (who I still don't see what he brings to the team except lots of running) and Fulton (who doesn't even bring that)

Add in some promising youth products who we should be looking to give first team exposure and maybe some minutes when games are comfortable
Three midfield places

One injury and only have Jay Fulton to play 6 so I'd sign another one
To be fair, Galbraith will play 6 for me and if we need to revert to a flat 2 in midfield then Galbraith, Yalcouye, Franco and Widell can all do it.
It would be nice to have another DM player in the squad but it's not a must.

On a separate note, were we really that interested in Kone? Genuine question because I was having a good read up about him and what Wycombe fans were saying about him. Big red flag that he can't play the lone striker role and when he did it lead to poor goalscoring return and he would often pick up yellow cards as his frustration as the lone striker came through.
We rely on a lone striker so missing out on him was a good thing in my view.

If the things I've read about Yalcouye are to be believed, sounds like this our LoB replacement and then some. 😀😀😀

Well, we were interested enough to offer several million for him, possibly twice. Does that count?
