He was brought in to change their style of play from hoof to passing and bring down the average age of the squad. Which he has done and got them into the L1 play-off final in his first full season. That's quite an achievement for Lincoln. Especially in that context.
That's adding to a brilliant job he did at Oxford.
His early career was a disaster but more due to bad choices. The Pompey job was a write off due to their financial issues. Blackpool and Blackburn were short spells with poor owners.
If we want a manager committed to passing attacking football, who can operate on a budget and is very good on the loan market we won't do much better.
