Swans make Appleton approach to replace Cooper?

I have seen a lot of lincoln over the last few years and Appleton has transformed them since the cowleys left. The style of football is polar opposite to what he inherited and would please the majority here. One of the last players from the cowley era just left so no credit can be given to them. Appleton has operated with a 40% cut in first team finances so has done really well there. Has also done very well with an extremely young and low in numbers squad. He would tick many boxes here, but not sure if his name and previous managerial experience would have an immediate inspiring impact.

See i dont watch or know much of Lincoln, just looked at the stats and its all quite average
They, like ourselves, had 0 shots on target in their play off final
I just dont know why we would go for Appleton when Howe is available for free who has higher stock, or another young manager abroad that did great things at smaller clubs like with Potter

Crikey Appleton, not setting the bar very high are we. For goodness sake , we've been in the play offs for the last 2 seasons and finished 4th in the championship. There's far better managers out there than Appleton who would like a shot at managing our club.

Anyone remember Colin Appleton managing here, the guy with the massive ears.
Sacked after 6 months, fckn useless.

I’m not saying he’d be my choice, but neither would Rodgers have been. All I can say is I watched that play off final and they played well and did create good chances. But it’s all a division below and it’s always dangerous to think it transfers across. I’d rather give him a spin than another season of Hoofer.

I hope we see a manager that would bring back the Swansea way of playing. Just like it was under Martinez and Rodgers. Can't see it happening though.

Maybe Appleton is forgivable however not knowing much about Rodgers before we considered him is less so. Brendan already had a decent track record before joining Swansea and brought through Gylfi at Reading. I think Appleton is fine last thing we want is a n o t h e r t w o t . That excludes Steve for obvious reasons.

"Big" Sam would get us promoted.

And play more attractive football than Cooperwang. So would Colin.

Then we could all just watch the stats.

He's often on Quest analysing games and he seems to know what he's talking about, and if it's correct that he prefers passing football, then that's a plus for all of us.

But there are a lot of Black ex-players and coaches who have got their badges but never been managers who might be worth investigating. I don't know any names, and this isn't about being politically correct, but that's where talent is being overlooked and could be worth a gamble.

So long as the club is solvent I'm not particularly fussed if we don't go up this season so long as we get a manager who rebuilds our playing style so we have a solid base to go up within the next 3 years.

She was co-commentator on the Swans FA Cup game they put on the beeb at Chrimbo and she was babbling like a speedfreak. She may know her stuff but she is a dreadful communicator.
