Last week the Swans Trust held it’s latest fundraising event at the Penderyn Distillery where over 30 teams gathered for a charity Quiz evening to support our 2025 Charity of the Year, the amazing Faith in Families
We are grateful for everyone who came along and to Trust Ambassador, local author and sports writer, David Brayley and Siany Martin, Fundraising Manager at Faith in Families and presenter of Drivetime on Swansea Bay Radio who kindly co-hosted the evening and posed questions on Swansea City, music and general knowledge.
Club Ambassador and playing legend Lee Trundle entered a team on behalf of the Swansea City Former Players Association and we were also appreciative of a surprise visit by local musician and composer Mal Pope who is busy working on the “Everyone Deserves a Christmas” campaign more details of which can be found on his website
During the evening we took the opportunity to present all of the local leagues with their sponsorship cheques for the 2025/26.
Almost £10,000 was awarded and shared between:
West Wales Womens and Girls League

Swansea Junior Football League

Swansea Schools’ FA

Swansea Senior Association Football League (u15s & u16s)

The Swans Trust have been supporting junior league football in and around Swansea since 2013 and last year increased that still further through the support of our members and other fundraising activities.
We wish all teams, coaches and players in all of the above leagues every success for the remainder of the season.
Due to the success of the Quiz night and the generosity of everyone who came along we were able to raise well over £1000 for Faith in Families which will be added to what we have raised so far this year.
This is on top of the initial £2500 that the Trust Board awarded them at the beginning of the year and another £500 so far collected from the kind donations of members and supporters when picking up printed team sheets from the Trust kiosk before our home games.
This latest £500 pledge has helped Faith in Families secure a full match funding pot as part of their “Big Give” project that will help families across Swansea have a more memorable Christmas.
Trust Board members and Quiz Night event organisers Howell Williams and Di Hughes were delighted to formally present this £500 to Faith in Families Fundraising Manager Siany Martin at the Quiz Night.
To help us continue supporting local grass roots football and charity organisations such as these the ongoing contributions of our members and supporters are vital and anyone can very easily join us online in just a few minutes here
