The only bubble trip left in Britain now, after restrictions were lifted on Blackburn fans visiting Burnley today.
JustJack said:I've said it before but I think it needs to be scrapped.
Cardiff fans in the stadium barely muttered under their breath during the game, maybe because their team was getting pounded yes, but you go back to that league cup game around 14 years ago, and the toxic air and nastiness was miles away from that.
Yes the first time the plod will have to collar a few people, but slowly the majority of morons will be weeded out.
Its embarassing that its not needed in games such as Celtic/Rangers, West Ham/Millwall, Birmingham/Villa, yet here we are.
Darran said:It won’t be lifted anytime soon. Too many c*nts on both sides.
JustJack said:Right but until the fans actively mix and it becomes normal to be on the trains together etc, it will never die down to the level needed to get rid of the restrictions. The bubble does nothing to improve the situation.
Maybe we need a charity pre season game or something.?
Darran said:I think one of the differences is that most other opposing derby supporters walk around the same cities together, like Glasgow,London,Manchester etc wearing their teams shirts.
You rarely see people walking around Swansea wearing Cardiff City shirts and vice versa,in other places they already kind of mix outside of game time and I’m not sure the people in charge want to improve any situation now that they’ve go a relatively easy job.
Unfortunately I agree with this, it’s a bit sad really.sainthelens said:Will never happen.
First time they try it, itll be a disaster waiting to happen.
Way too many youngsters from both sides who would relish a tear up...and no doubt be led by old school wannabes.
And when people get seriously hurt following it, not only would the bubble quickly return, but also the possibility of banning away fans.
Anyone thinking any different would happen is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Your missing the point buddy. When it kicks off the first time...the authorities will say thats it...no more. Either back to bubbles or no away fans.JustJack said:So that's it? A done deal until the end of time?
The first time would be the worst, but the ones who cause trouble will just be collared and put away.
The second time there will be less of them inclined to act such a way and so on until it can become something that resembles the 21st century.

This topic illustrates the stupidity/irony of the people arguing against the rugby internationals held in Cardiff. Circa 80000 supporters mixing, with alcohol = the odd ruck or assault/misdemeanour. Circa 30000 at the footy and you have to have a significant police presence to stop running riots in the streets. So, can we drop that particular subject for a while please?
