Swansea City Have Parted Ways with Head Coach Luke Williams

Should it turn out that the photo of LW at Bristol airport is not a generated AI photo I will take my hat off to him. I don't think there have been many ex-footballers or head coaches who would have placed himself in the public domain. Best of luck Luke hope you get back in the game stronger and wiser.

The holier than thou tone, mainly. Hard up Luke doing honest work to put bread on the table to feed little Timmy, only a heartless wretch could find anything humerous about this etc. give over.

No idea why you’ve taken it that way.

It’s good that he’s gone out to earn a wage and people wrongly take the piss. As has happened to others. No one is saying that he’s hard up or struggling to live. It’s just a bloke doing some honest work and people pointing and laughing is a bit childish really, just because he used to choose who kicked a ball around a field for a club you support.

I don’t know what his payout was but I doubt he’s set for life, as someone else said it’s probably enough to buy a house mortgage free.

I guess it depends what the terms of his payoff were. Some get a lump sum, others remain on the payroll for the duration of their contract until they find alternative employment.

I thought the bloke was a bit of a prat as a manager but can't fault him here. As some have said, it probably beats sitting in the house going stir crazy. Not sure how it'll look to prospective employers within the game mind.

Met him countless times working around the club on media duties… absolutely lovely bloke, wish it worked for him but he was really struggling towards the end of his time here… the stress of it was really getting to him.

Fair play to him for not sitting on his arse at home and doing something worthwhile.

Well done to Luke, his work ethic is unquestionable, it didn't work out for him with us in the same way most of us have had jobs that weren't right for various reasons.

I really liked Williams when he joined. A really positive, open personality, impossible not to warm to. Then he clearly struggled to get buy in to his ideas, probably mainly because he had the wrong players to implement his game plan. At that point he lost the plot, starting with the home game against Portsmouth where he had a meltdown at pitch side. I hope he reflects on that and works on the mental side of things. He could do no worse than talk to Bellamy about changing his mindset. He showed at Notts County that he has some good capabilities, but he needs to learn from his time with us.
