• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Not like that but I'm sure those services are available.

Seems to be Thai eateries all over the place. Thoroughly enjoyed my larb moo in the market. What are the other places like, any recommendations or does the market nail it?

No idea but a little known but true fact is that in 1964 there was on 1 thai restaurant in the whole of the UK.

In 1974 there was only one MacDonald's in the UK. It was in Woolwich and I went there within a few weeks of it opening with an American friend of mine who was going nuts with excitement that they'd finally opened one. I just had a chocolate milkshake and didn't go in another until around 2004 when I had to pick my son up from a kids' party which had ended up there!

Thai Bach on Brynymor Road has never disappointed, though good luck finding a parking place. Those takeaways on A4118/Walter Road (not just the Thais but all of them!) look nasty so I have never risked them.

Remember the Goldfinch opposite what was The Tenby?
Bloody awful it was. Miserable portions.
