There's a possibility the release clause has conditions that trigger certain amounts and isn't just a fixed amount. It might be a similar story to what happened with Martin and Southampton where he had a clause, but the amount was different depending on what league the poaching team was in. Could be a similar deal here and we believe a lower amount applies and his club think the highest amount applies.

A direct quote from his club's chairman saying the release clause was 1m euros contradicts that.

Vital is suggesting the 1m is largely made up of promotion clauses, which means we have found a workaround that is acceptable to everyone and doesn’t cost us a heap up front

The person who hired the manager that we had to sack (our then DoF) has been sacked and is now in league two. We have now replaced that manager in 10 days, which is quicker than a lot of clubs is basically what I'm trying to say.
