The 100 Cricket

Ahh well, as soon as the "Originals" drafted in a senior citizen for his one and only appearance in the tournament the writing was on the wall for the Fire...

Starts tomorrow, I'm in agreement with ECB, why have a new format, when you have the vitality blast, it's entertaining I suppose and it helps to broadcast women's cricket

Heard a conversation today on Talksport think it was Hawksbee and Jacobs talking to Steve Hammy Harmison who said that he's worried about the future for Test Match cricket saying that there are only three nations who take it seriously England, Australia and India.
Reckons white ball cricket especially franchise cricket is a big threat with the money available to pay massive contracts to players.

When the initial contract for this tournament is up 2026 or 2028 I think) they plan on changing the format to T20 because the stupid new format isn’t caught on anywhere outside this country (imagine that). But they want to keep the name The Hundred. Cos that makes sense to someone.

How about THE HUNDRED PERCENT T20?...

It's been reported that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are in talks in buying a large share of Welsh Fire.
I thought this was a wind up until they just reported it on the news! 🤣
Also notice that Mr Cricket himself is coaching the men's side this campaign, hopefully things looking up...

Is proud Welshman Johnny Bairstow still “our” star player?
