Swansea to get its beloved 'Castle Gardens' back

Good news, the current Gardens, gardens that's a laff, is shitte. To be fair the preliminary sketches look tidy. The existing stonework must have cost a fortune, ah well I'm sure they can find a hole that needs filling somewhere.

Is the original fountain from castle gardens still around in a park maybe victoria or brynmill

The theme of our city centre is incremental changes with no long term strategic plan or design principles.

The sum of the parts is less than the whole. We have tactical thinkers running the council, if they think at all.

The castle gardens of old, was full of drunks and drugged up homeless,

Since it was concreted over those vagrants have spread out more, along the whole Kingsway, by old YMCA, by old C &A, but also further afield. Not a great place to visit.

Whenever I have to visit Swansea city centre I see far more trouble than ever before. Fights, begging - this is in the daytime. Not a police officer in sight. Too busy writing up reports or self isolating I guess. Swansea and commuting life in general is going down hill at a rate of knots.

Anyway. Happy holidays and enjoy your festive season with loved ones. Just dont shop in Swansea city centre.

My uncle was a drunk, he died 3 years ago due to a drug overdose, he was schizophrenic, yet he was a decent sort who'd look after the weak, don't tar them all with the same brush, because you've never actually met them

I think SCC stumbled upon a more widespread inevitably in that city centres will likely be recreational. How they execute it is another matter.

A school friend of my daughter was sexually assaulted at the age of 14 in Castle Gardens when it was populated by winos etc. It was an awful place at times.

Who said I had never met them?

Who is tarring all with same brush ?

My family have many many 'weak'who your uncle may well have looked after.

Skippy, on your recent behaviour it could be hereditary. That's not an insult or jibe. You are also a decent sort. Seek help, it is out there. The biggest and hardest steps are to ask for help after firstly realising you need it. Happy to help if you wish to reach out.

You basically had a pop at the drunks and homeless.. seek help for what, you basically had a pop at me for no reason.. violence in Swansea? You want to go to New York and frequent the neighborhoods, if you want real violence etc.

Skip. Read back the thread. You are obviously abusing a substance. When you have a clear head. We can chat .
