• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

A Manchester Tart in Jenkins is next level.
Why have I never heard of them before?

Just Googled it, sounds bloody lovely. Do they do them in the Jenkins in Neath?

Isn't that basically an egg custard with a bit of jam thrown in?

The guy by the Quadrant was fantastic.

That's the guy, Dicky. Think it was the first time I'd tried them. Precinct/Quadrant same thing innit. You knew what I meant.

Nothing could ever top an Eynons minced beef pie, or one of their pastys, as a young boy in the 70's I'd go to town with my gran and we'd always go to Eynons cafe for a bite to eat, back then I'd always have some ice cream.

Sadly Eynons disappeared some years ago

I would have said Sweetman’s too, Jenkins has never been quite the same.

lewis pie at the vetch.

And the firm that defied science with its " piping hot and frozen at the same time" pasties!!!

To be fair, was that Lewis’s fault or the person serving it? Lewis pies straight from the bakery in the Sandfields were absolutely wonderful.

Bought a pastie in the Harry Griffiths bar one game started eating it and noticed a bit of mildew, took it back and showed Sue the offending patch of mildew, she promptly tore off the furry patch of pastry then handed it back saying "there you go mate" 😂

Stuart’s bakery in Killay is excellent.

I couldn't agree more. Superb!! The amount of couriers that park nearby when I'm on my way to Pennard always makes me laugh

A Ferrari's bakery coffee puff. A big Choux pastry stuffed with thick cream and topped with sticky coffee icing. Sexual AF
