Glen Campbell was part of “The Wrecking Crew” that backed numerous bands back then, the musicians that were in the “Crew” were some of the best session musicians around and it’s worth taking a look at the link just to see who and what they were associated with.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wrecking_Crew_(music)

A great era for music, that was proper music, million times better than what is produced these days.

Glen also toured when Brian Wilson ‘retired’ from the road. I’m a little obsessed with ‘Wichita Lineman’- a great
Jimmy Webb song recorded by Glen (with the Wrecking Crew). Carol Kaye’s bass at the start is a thing of beauty. ‘Pet Sounds’ is essentially Brian Wilson and the Wrecking Crew- with vocals from the others added later.

Did you go to the Jimmy Webb evening a few years back in Manchester ? I found out about it by chance. Just him at the piano telling his life story and his relationship with Glen Campbell. A great evening with a lovely man. I never knew how many songs he'd written.

They've had some great opening acts over the years, but this was the best one. Singing with Brian's touring band at the time for the Brian Wilson Tribute Concert.
