With the four regions rapidly loosing thier best players to the English/French game because the WRU have not a pot to pìss into regarding funding, this brutally shows how bad things are at grass root level, how much longer can rugby survive in the principality at any decent level...

“A silly sport played by tubsters”

First comment I saw after the article. As a chinny chins tubster myself I can confirm I’ve never played the game.

Haha fair
I'll watch rugby if no football on but too many stoppages and rules for me, also, they seem to have gone a little too much H&S, watched a Scarlets player getting yellow carded tonight for simply being a split second late in a tackle and catching an opponent just above upper body ffs 😳

It is however, for many Welsh people, part of the fabric of society .
To see it dying as it is saddens many.
Seen as a threat by many who hate the game .

When played well,a great spectacle and we have a proud history of world renowned players who had the same roots as many of us

And add to the mix i.e. future litigation, compensation pay-outs and ever increasing insurance payments with ex-players experiencing medical conditions like CTE and dementia, that gives the impression that we still yet only at the bottom rung of an upcoming epidemic that'll hit many more former pro's .

These conditions take many years for symptoms to become evident. It's a terrible time for Welsh rugby both on and off the field of play!
