We need to do things differently here due to the financial limitations. We haven’t got the funds to have high profile loans as we did under Cooper, we need to find other ways to compete with clubs who are bigger than us, have huge resources compared to us,

That would be the Swansea way then, that's how we operated from when Flynn came in. We only stopped doing it when we got to the Premier League (latter years). Nothing new, and what most of our up and coming managers had to do.

We stopped doing it the moment Monk come in. Tried with Potter but he shot off has he had no time for the owners and premier league chance. We reverted to type with Cooper, expensive loans, £80k per week striker who got us out of jail a ridiculous amount of times. Martins had to rip it up and start again on a low budget.

Manning has been offered less than what he was on when he signed, after two good seasons, he’s a run of the mill champ player which we can’t afford to tie down, that sums up what Martin is working with .

Doesn't matter when it stopped, what I'm trying to say is that most of our managers were on the same financial handcuffs as Russ is / was. Look at what he has wasted, he bought a keeper we didn't need, who is now picking up good coin getting splinters in his hoop, his marquee centre back can't cement a place in the team, Fin Stevens, Oko Flex. We are far better off than a lot of teams in this league. I don't buy into this poor Russ hasn't got the funds. He has got a more than decent squad here at the moment, and should be doing better with them.

Keeper situation was poor, can’t argue with that but we’ll make big money off Darling I’m certain.

Okoflex, in my opinion, should have played more, but hasn’t worked out, him and Stevens would have been relatively cheap loans who were used for cover.

What should we be doing then? Winter said himself we are bottom third budget, we are a point off play offs.

And it does matter when it stopped, Cooper struck out on the last few parachute payments and martins left with the pieces.

I don't listen to what Winter says, he and his ilk talk with a forked tongue. Although I will say that the owners have done a sterling job so far.

This is about Russ and his poor management / tactics, can you see any improvement since he took over? Nearly two years ago? Honestly now?

Let's forget the Watford game, and the little 8 game run earlier in the season. The football is an absolute bore fest for the most part, passing the leather off the ball for stats sake. Most people don't want to watch that game. He isn't learning, that's my issue with him.

I’ll judge if there’s an improvement end of this season. Last year we lost a ridiculous amount of goals, you get what you pay for and we lost expensive footballers and replaced for a lot less.

Top half on this budget, for me is a good season and I’m confident we’ll get that minimum.

The only way he'll convince any of us is if we cut out the 'borefest' and we can manage the high intensity stuff we saw Friday. My feeling is we may go on another little run of a few wins with same approach as Friday but then he'll revert to old ways as he thinks THAT way gets him noticed.

Got to admit though, Risc, it’s boring as hell 90% of the time.

We are too cautious when we start games in my opinion, and it’s a squad with zero pace, but Martin needs to take responsibility for that as he prefers other qualities but I’m hoping he addresses it in January,

That stat about most Championship points is a bit of nonsense.
How many points would the 3 promoted teams have if they'd spent the entire year in the division?
How many points would Burnley have?
Football is measured by seasons not calendar years.
