Thing is, county cricket has never paid its own way, or at least not for decades. It’s exists purely to develop players for the national team. In theory anyway. For that reason it has to be protected and subsidised massively and that cash has got to come from somewhere. But this country literally invented 20 over cricket so how we’ve managed to fall so far behind that we had to try and come up with yet another funky format is beyond me.
 
Their batting was lamentable too.

And let's not dwell on their running between wickets either.

Well that’s that nonsense over for another year, robbing us of international cricket during the peak month of August. Never to be seen again in its current guise, it’ll be yet another T20 franchise league next year. Cos that’s what cricket needs. Another T20 franchise league.
