Yeah but you shouldn’t just write players off without giving them a chance to adapt and grow in to the league. A lot of these players are young and still learning. With the right coaching they’ve all got potential to be better.

I wonder if (an I honestly dont know) are the same people who watched Guehi for 10 games and said he would never amount to much, and the called Gyokores "the Swedish meatball".

I know you love a transfer and the idea of signing someone purely as backup/insurance/cup player doesn't get your motor running, but it doesn't mean it wasn't a sensible signing. If Santos hadn't got his unfortunate injury and had been able to play in the League Cup games, we'd have more of an idea if he was of the required standard or not.

I think you're aware that signing players is a bit more complicated than simply 'moving onto the next targets'.

I think the fact that he is nearly out the door 7 months after he signed suggests that it hasn't worked, I think the club have clearly seen that it hasn't or isn't going to work....if we are getting a fee then the club have done well.

We needed centre halves, if we didn't manage to sign Burgess or Casey then are you suggesting we would have gone from the start of the season to today with just Cabango and Santos? Come on, really!? The suggestion that we signed Santos just incase we didn't sign another centre half is just nonsense.

As for the Guehi comparison, where was he in level after 30 games with us? He had well and truly established himself and was even then having people say he was a future England defender.
Inoussa is now 28 games with us and is creating debate with not one mention of being a future Swedish International, hopefully that will change but he might need a bit longer than Guehi which in itself tells a story between the 2 players.
Let's not forget that Guehi was 19 when he joined us and not 23 and was 21 winning his first cap for England.

Guehi was on loan to us though so you can’t compare him to someone we bought. It would be next to impossible for us to attract talent like that, and if we did they wouldn’t stay for very long. The players we’ve got are the players we can get.

That's the model we are aiming for, sign players with the talent and then sell, recycle that fee into new players and hopefully along the way we can compete towards the top of the table.
The players are certainly out there.

The comparison of Guehi wasn't brought up by myself, I was just highlighting the clear class in quality of a player we signed at 19, had a shaky 10 games or so and past that point was quality.

How hasn’t it worked? He was brought in to be fourth choice centre half and we’ve flipped for profit and signed Joel Ward as his replacement off the bat.

Not every signing will be a regular. We need squad players here on small wages.

He has been injured and not been available for selection be that for cup games or the bench for league games. It's impossible to have seen that injury coming but he has had a recent history of injuries.
If we are getting a 6 figure fee then it's great business and bringing in Ward who can act as 4th choice CB and cover RB until the end of the season will certainly do.

The only problem is Inoussa is awful on the right. He's clearly a LW and he's not going to get into the team over Eom atm.

I have been screaming out for us to try Eom on the right. He has no left foot, thus he has difficulty crossing from the left when moving the ball forward.

Inoussa, though he hasn't shown it much lately, should be attacking the goal more. As far as I know, he's not got a particularly strong left foot either.

So, for my money, I'd play Inoussa on the left and Eom on the right. I'd ask for Eom to just whip in the crosses like crazy and Inoussa to drive towards goal.

Eom played in the same position with his previous club. Purely because he can cut in and shoot on his right. I agree in theory if he is a player who has a strong right foot should be on the right, but naturally it wouldn't lead to his goals or shots as he would be cutting in - having been on his right side to then shoot on his left. The issue as you pointed out is that the issue is his assists and his weak left foot. The only way you could in theory use him is as a 10, which many have debated.
