The lack of ambition from upstairs plays its way through on the pitch

This lack of ambition from upstairs is hardly surprising, though, is it?

When was the last time our "owners" even bothered to step on a plane and attend a game?

The warning signs were evident at least five seasons ago. Some, admittedly not many, tried to call out the hedge fund and were largely ridiculed.

Now, nearly all the fanbase expects the inevitable drop into League One. It's just a case of when, not if.

Apologies for the negativity.

It's so fucking frustrating how close we are to being a 'good' side. Someone who can create in midfield, and a decent striker with a bit of pace would go a long way for us. If we'd scored even three more goals this season, we could be 7/8 places higher up the table
I agree with pretty much all of that but how many of our players are playing anywhere near their potential? A manager has several jobs and one of them is getting all the players playing to the best of their ability or at least consistently close to it, at least 90%. It's what gets teams like Luton and Ipswich promoted. How many of our players can you say are actually doing that? Of the players that took part against Millwall, how many would you say actually played close to their potential?

Just to add to that excellent summary, remember how excited we were by the impact Ronald initially made? The lad has regressed at an alarming rate of knots.

Bar our central halves, keeper and Franco there's no one playing to the best of their ability. Indeed it appears they've regressed.

Cooper has had a bit of an upturn but that's only thanks to playing for Wales. The question is if another coach can get better out of him for example, why can't ours?

There's more than just the Williams issue here but anyone who thinks this is the top level of the squad has shit covered specs.

Probably the same posters thought Cardiff's squad was fit for relegation mind.

Won't take long for Franco to head the same way as Ronald, especially if he continues to get hooked with games in the balance.

In terms of Cooper he has flashes throughout the season. We've probably seen the best of him for this one.

The lads at the back and the keeper are keeping us afloat at the moment. If the manager can't find a fix and find one soon you have to question how long they can keep bailing us out for.

I agree with your points, and I don't want to imply that I'm solely blaming our lack of fortunes on not investing of an impactful frontline - but it does go a long way to explaining things.

We've definitely had a drop off this season from a few players - I'd say Cabango and Darling are the only two who have clearly improved. Key's looked lively, but he was ace last season when fit, so there's nothing new there. Tymon, Ronald, and Cullen have dropped off massively, they're miles away from their best at the moment

Consensus is key players are underachieving due to poor man-management by Williams.

The squad is more than capable of delivering performances and results like yesterday.

Williams is the limiting factor with sub-optimal selection, in-game management and weak leadership. There is clearly a respect issue.

The quality of the Championship is worse this year than it has been for many a year, we could easily be 8 or 9 pts better off than we are at present, no team has dominated us like the likes of Soton, Leicester, leeds and other clubs that have come down in recent years. If we continue to play on the front foot and our strikers have their shooting boots on I could certainly see us in the Play-off places by end of Jan.

Let's see how we get on against Leeds later this month. I know they were up against Plymouth on Saturday, but they looked frighteningly good.

That's a load of twaddle for starters. Norwich and Bristol City completely outplayed us at home, we got 4 points through digging in and nothing else.

We're doing about as well as we possibly can with a very limited squad.

Norwich and Bristol City out playing us is bit of stretch.
