If you project Matos points per game onto the games Sheehan had at the beginning of the season we’d have 70 points now with a max of 73 to play for which is potentially enough to get you play offs this season.

Understand the Sheffield Wednesday argument but you could also say that clubs like Wrexham with their finances coming in alongside the parachute sides make the league more difficult on paper. I’d definitely say the league is poorer this year for quality but it has felt more competitive among the midtable sides.

I don’t think we’ve gotten better or worse from last year but our overall position is stronger going into the summer. We have a bit more quality in depth and we have multiple saleable assets that could help us improve. There are definite positives.

There is positives I'm not denying that we've performed well in a majority of the games under Matos but we have done this cycle for the last 4 seasons now and quite frankly I'm getting bored of it.

We've ended the season well and everybody has said next year is the year we challenge playoffs and then by Christmas we're battling relegation again.

This was as poor of a division as I've seen for a long long time and we haven't really had a sniff of playoffs all year.

In the summer we will have a big sale we all know it and that straight off the bat will make us even further off the playoffs then what we are now. Is this recruitment team capable of making up that drop off and more to get us into the playoffs?

Im not convinced they are. They had 20mill to do that last summer and they couldn't so what is any different now?

We spent a lot but that was to replace a lot of experience and only having 1 senior centre back.
We did that on the high side, more than most of us really expected.

You could also say it’s a positive thing that we’re finishing in a similar position to last season. A lot of players left last season and much of what we brought into the first team was younger talent rather than experience. We’ve basically maintained a level of quality but gained a few players of value that will hopefully help us push on.

Also think it’s a good thing that the owners will now know the full scope of what’s needed if their goal is to get into the playoffs.

You are absolutely correct about the cycle of the last 4 seasons, generally finish well and everyone with their what ifs and buts. What they are saying about Matos now they were saying about Sheehan this time last year. Hope Matos carries on next season what he has done this season as it's been quite tedious the last 4 seasons with any chance of a play off spot disappearing into the mist before mid October.

I fail to see your point? Are you seriously arguing that the team with the lowest points tally in championship history who have won 1 game hasn't inflated the points tally of all the other 23 teams in the league?

To put into context Cardiff who finished bottom last year picked up over triple their points.
